What's Your Next Purchase? V5

I've seen it before, I knew mall ninja tacticool types did it to AR15s, I was just surprised glock was doing it, I was even more surprised somebody who's actually going to use the gun in severe conditions would buy one like that.

I just can't get on board with that. I have an old glock 17 that is worn really well, it's like 20 years old and was a police trade in, I think it cost me 325 bucks. I can't imagine paying extra for that.

What did it look like?

Something like this one in the back?

Yeah it was like the one in back, not the one with the relief cuts.

It looked cool, just seems so fucked up to buy pre worn stuff, I've never understood it...jeans, guitars....guns. I've even seen Oakley sunglasses that look like scraped up metal.

Yeah it's not for me personally but I've seen some builds that looked awesome imo.

The difference between guns and clothes is the gun isn't actually damaged. That glock I posted a picture of is a cerakote with a NiB hardener for increased lubricity and supposed added corrosion/wear resistance.

Can't buy them from the factory that way I don't think (Glock) though I thought you could get them from the factory in FDE. Also... I am not a mall ninja thank you.

I know it's not damaged, I got on gunbroker and just searched "battleworn, glock" and there's dozens of them, that's exactly what this guy had, just a ceracoat job or whatever that looks scraped up.

It looks even more autistic in person, the slide is all worn but the sights and frame are brand new??? Dumb.

I think they are from glock, maybe not though, there are tons of these exact same guns on gunbroker.

Glock has some different color runs, FDE, OD, grey, there was like a brown mud color at one point, a Forrest green I think.

The only ones I like other than black are the origional olive drab ones, I wish o got more of those when they were available ~ 2009ish.

I don't know man.....drop leg holsters, chest rigs, pre stressed/worn assault rifles.

.....just joking.

........sort of.
The leg holster is cause I am fat and the chest rig is because my vet buddies are teaching me how to properly run an AR.... goober.

I self identify as a mall panda thanks

I'm just messing around, I don't actually have a problem with mall ninjas or whatever. Some
Gun people are strange though....ever seen those cowboy action shooters??? They go all out with costumes, names, they even build small buildings and set them up with jails and stuff to play out scenarios like jail breaks and bank robberies old west style.

My old neighbor was one of those guys and he had at least 30 different single action revolvers and a shit ton of lever action rifles.

Leg holster are horrible, I hate them. I took one hunting in montana several years ago for my glock 20 since there is bears there, the thing rubbed me raw and chaffed me up so bad from the 12 mile hike on the first day that the gun just stayed in my backpack where it was useless. I switched to chest holster and never looked back.

Now I carry my super Blackhawk in a diamond customs "Alaska guide" chest holster, it's awesome. I keep my redhawk 44 and my glock 20s in gungighters inc kenai chest holsters.

Both those holsters are awesome, I wear one about 12+ hours a day these days and I almost forget the gun is there.

Just received a titanium bolt handle and trigger guard for my kimber. That will save a few oz, I've called around to a few places so next time I'm in the city I can stop by and drop it off to get a few inches cut off the barrel.

I'm also planning on switching out the scope to a leupold vx3i 1.5-5x24, that will drop another -4oz off.

Shouldn't come in around 5lb, 7oz when it's all said and done.

This is the one I got:

For what I'll use it for a chest holster isn't as much of an option. I think if I had a secondary gun for me to go hunting it'd be a shoulder holster like an old school style Galco one. I'm not a huge fan of my binos bouncing off a gun on my chest constantly.

I think if I was in better shape even when hunting I'd wear one of those battle belt things as it's a great place to keep a first aid kit. Alas, I am too bear shaped to do so.

I keep my bumps in an Alaska guide creations chest pack. The harness holds it snug and nothing bounces around. It's a pretty sweet set up. Kuiu makes a good one too as does Sitka.

I'll look into it. I was looking at one of those harness systems that Vortex makes as Vortex made my binos too so figure start there plus I love Vortex gear. Have a 3x a 6-24x and the binos from them and I am sure almost any other optic I buy for future rifles unless it's like an Aimpoint from Vortex.

I don't like those basic strap set ups for binoculars, but hose are for bird watchers who go on casual walks through the forest. I prefer a full on binocular pack, it's more comfortable, protects your optics better and most of them have some small extra pockets for small things you may want to have quick access to.

I don't really carry much of a first aid kit, basically a sat phone, ibuprofen, sleeping pills, a roll of athletic tape and a bandana.

Looks good. Check out the AGC and kuiu ones too. Vortex stuff is nice, I'm not really too brand loyal though, I've been trying to buy as many made in Alaska hunting products as I can lately though and most of it has been awesome. I got a frame pack from barneys sport chalet in anchorage and it's pretty awesome, should easily haul moose quarters on the frame.

I got some scope covers made in AK, the AGC Bino pack, and I'm checking out these chest holsters from this company called "man gear alaska" dumb name but their stuff seems affordable and I see lots of people with it.
