What's Your Next Purchase? V5

It's crazy. I think if they are bumping up the price to 1K from what is a $700 ish gun is ridiculous if it's because of the cerakote. CERAKOTE AIN'T THAT EXPENSIVE!

For sure. CTR or the Minimalist for me personally.

Well with the vanguard backcountry it actually seems like the few hundered is well spent I mean a normal vanguard which is already awesome is like 600 bucks, then the back country gets a nice carbon fiber stock and a lighter fluted barrel, after that, the cera coat it just icing on the cake. I may need to take a closer look at these because as you know I think the vanguard is about the best all around hunting rifle you can buy in terms of quality and accuracy.

That mark v is sweet though, I'll see I may hold off and if work goes well this summer I might spend a bit more and get that mkv, I mean really it's only like ~ 400 dollars more than the kimber and 500 more than the Sako.

Put a leupold mk3 4-10x36 on their and you would have one hell of a lightweight gun. But at the same time, for 1k less you could be rocking the backcountry which I'd guess is ~ 95% of the gun a mkv is.

ridiculous. Madmick hates me and gave me dubs for posting "fuck you" to some piece of shit Christian who was talking turn to Jesus threat bullshit in the first few posts of the RIP Ali thread. He's too sensitive to mod, especially the War Room, imo.

I may be buying way less shit related to this thread over the next year or two.... Thinking about building a 1970 Chevelle SS.

Yeah mad mick dubbed me too. Lol.

I would go for the backcountry but I still really want that Leupold Package. I have a Viper 6-24 sitting at home but I want to put that bitch on my AR-10 or MAYBE get new rings and mount it on my dad's Win 70.

I think 6-24 is a bit big for hunting personally. Nothing wrong with it br ive backed off on hunting scopes a bit because I've rarely ever shot anything over 10x so now I just go lighter and More simple with it. In fact I would mind a nice fixed 8 or 10x for a mountain rifle, I've even been going with smaller lenses because 50mm seems a bit bulky for this type of rifle.

I was even thinking today that I'd like to get another moose in the next couple of years and I was thinking of just sort of doing it old school and using a 45-70 or my 444 Marlin and really just committing to stalking it rather than shooting it from far away.

I'd love to take a moose with iron sights in thick woods. A nice big one, like a real trophy quality animal. One so big I can't even touch both tips of the rack at the same time.

Doing it with a bow would be another cool option.

Bang bang.

I think that one may be a bit older and not the upgraded 2016 version. I'm sure it's still badass but they made a few minor tweaks to the ultra lightweight this year.

A few months back there was a 300wm brand new in the box for 1399.00 on gun broker it was the older one and I passed on it because I wasn't looking for 300wm, the auction ended and it never popped back up. In still kicking myself because that would have made a fantastic elk rifle.

I'm sure the 16's will come down in a couple months.

I got it on a really good price and want to play with long range shooting at the range too.

Yeah for sure, I have some scopes likenthat that too, they are just on more precision type rifles. It would be awesome to have an ar in 308 with a nice powerful scope.

I really wanted a military exposed style turrets for my AR-10 but this one may end up on it.

It's Mil-dot but adjustments are in MOA so that will cause me to relearn math. FUCK

Those high power scopes are cool I think you just don't need them for hunting. For precision shooting, taking shots at 1000 yards and stuff like that sure.

For a long looooong time and maybe still today, usmc snipers just used a ubertl 10x fixed power scope and had good results with it.

One of the reasons why I gave up long range precision. I may be Canadian, trained in the metric system, but with shooting, I understand yards and MOA.

I know for most things you don't need much past 9. I kinda want to use the AR-10 for gopher hunting someday so the big scope could be used for that.

lol

I want one. I might get it as my next big purchase. I am also tempted by the 629 Stealth Hunter.

I've been tempted by the 220-10 myself. I have a glock 20 and a 29 though so it's hard to justify it. It would be an awesome gun though and there's tons of 10mm ammo options out there these days. That sit would be nasty loaded up with some buffalo bore or some double tap 230g hard casts.....nasty.

629 stealth hunter would be awesome too. I've been looking at the smith and Wesson thunder ranch 45acp revolver. I like the way it looks sort of like a modern webley. I don't think I'll get it but it seems cool.

I can't really see myself going for any handguns any time soon honestly, I have a bunch already that rarely get used amd I just got that bisley Blackhawk 454.

If I was going to get anything, it would probably be that kryptek 220-10 though. I was in another forum and a guy had shot a massive buck with one, seemed pretty awesome.
