It's been awhile since I bought a gun but I was looking around on Gunbroker earlier and ended up buying something. Now, I've got 3 Glocks, Springfield, IWI Jericho, and some other guns.. I'm sure I posted pics and videos in this topic on them. Today, I ended up buying a Taurus G2C.

It's a $200 pistol. I paid like $220 for the one I ordered. It's OD green and black.

How bad could it possibly be is what I'm wondering. From the vids I watched after ordering it, they are saying it's a damn good pistol. Best bang for your buck. Super reliable. People say Taurus used to make crap guns but gave greatly improved their quality and the G2C is supposedly one of their good guns.


When I get it, I'm going to shoot it a bunch, and give a simple review. Will it work or will it jam? Thats my only concern.

But they are nice looking guns. Reminds me of the S&W M&P handgun looks wise.

If this Taurus proves reliable, I'll probably start carrying it.

I own a bunch of different handguns. I've taken them all apart many many times. The differences between them are minimal. I will say that.

I bough a Taurus G2 (might be a G2C, can't remember) many years ago. I probably have 800 rounds through it, and have only had one failure to feed the entire time. IMO, it's one of the best guns on the market once price is factored in. I don't find it as comfortable as my HK pistol, but it was also half the price.
 


Thats the exact one I ordered. It looks like a nice pistol. I'm confident that it will work. I like that holster the guy has too.

I've been watching vids and these G2C's are highly upgradable. There are tons of aftermarket parts for these. You can get drum mags and all kinds of shit for these pistols.

It's a nice throwaway pistol. If you have to shoot a bad guy and the cops confiscate it, it's not a big loss. These handguns get a lot of use down in Brazil too. Glocks in America and Taurus down in Brazil. These are possibly the 2 most used brands of handguns in the world.

I read somewhere, said 1 & 1/2 inch high at 25 yards is you dead on zero at 100.

I could shoot a hog with that thing.

I really want something like that. I want a revolver that gets over 500 foot pounds of force but is also somehow concealable, and that I can get a pinky in on my grip. I don't know if any such gun exists, but I think it will look something like this.

I ultimately passed on the 44 after reading a bit more about the SW 29s. This one is nickel plated. Was told it was polished stainless, but when I saw it in the flesh, it was apparently nickel. Do not want nickel.

Overall good though, I bought a lawnmower instead.

I think i'll end up buying a Taurus 44, ( not as costly)

Probably the 6.5 inch. I read they're designed for full house 44 mag loads.

I've got access to 44 mag dies, I will try either 200grn bullet at 1500fps, or the 180grn bullet at 1800fps, at first.

It wouldn't let me post my pic. I have to screenshot the pic I took to post them which is weird.

I got my Taurus yesterday. It looks and feels just as good as any of my more expensive pistols. It's built damn near identical to my Glocks. They take apart the same and the parts are pretty much the same.

The only thing bad about the Taurus is the sights are plastic and my rear sight isn't level. The right side of my rear sight is higher than the left side by a few hairs.

I'm going to order some fiber optic sights to put on this Taurus. They are like 30-40 bucks.
 
Anyone have opinions on body armor companies? I've been browsing for a lighter weight vest with a plate insert, but I'd like to hear opinions from here as well. There's more companies than I realized making armor these days.

Some of these may be difficult to get your hands on.

Whatever you buy make sure it's NIJ certified and do not buy steel plates. Ceramic or uhmwpe (polyethylene).

Also if a bunch of youtubers recommend/are sponsored by a particular brand I'd probably stay away from it lol. Just make sure you look up real comparisons and tests. Make sure it's NIJ certified.

Crye makes the best carriers.


I have Hesco plates. 4401. I might add their L210 to my collection as well.
 
My next gun is going to either be a Lynx 12 or a Scorpion EVO.

I'm leaning towards the Lynx 12 do to the tons of upgrades available for it.

I want something fun that I can work on upgrading part by part.

I don't know much about the Scorpion EVO as far as upgrades. I just saw the price came down from what I saw on them years ago. I spotted a new one on Gunbroker for less than $800 and got excited.

I put my order in today on a Ruger 10-22 rifle. Cost me a little over $300. I'm really excited over this one. These little rifles have a massive aftermarket for parts. I'm going to fully deck this rifle out. 110 round drum magazine. Tripod. Nice scope. This is going to my my little SHTF sniper rifle.
