He didn't win because he is better than any other candidates. He won because a lot of Americans are easy to con, and because they liked that he was openly insulting and cruel because they wish they could act like him and get away with it.

When old people get dementia it’s usually pleasantly confused or mean as fuck. I think it depends on their personality in life.

My Mom had dementia. She went the mean as fuck route. It was pretty much the complete opposite of her actual personality.

One thing I learned about going through all that was even with non-presidents, doctors are very hesitant to diagnose dementia. Apparently because they usually end up in conservatorship there are a whole lot of legal issues that can pop up.
