Had they been able to prove that Arbery was in fact stealing would that have made it justifiable?

Had the three men been the actual owners of the house would it then be justifiable? Or is something like this only justifiable on one's own property?

Self defense in the moment is one thing, but you don't get to put on a badge and play bounty hunter, chase a guy down, shoot him dead, and then claim you had no other choice.

Probably no on the first two but not on the last one depending what state you are in. Castle doctrine should justify a homeowner being able to draw a weapon on someone for trespassing on their own property and then using deadly force after they decide to attack

He just looked around they had no cause to chase him down and ask him anything. They had an obligation to call the police and let them handle it. At MOST they could've followed at a distance and reported it to the Police.

He just looked around they had no cause to chase him down and ask him anything. They had an obligation to call the police and let them handle it. At MOST they could've followed at a distance and reported it to the Police.

They had cause to chase him down because he had been seen tresspassing in that home and things had been getting stolen in that home and in cars in the neighborhood.

Yes it would have ended up better for the neighbors if they let the police catch him instead. Might have ended up bad for the police as well. Ahmaud was not a good person and had stolen before and had some run ins with the police.
