Was just thinking about the next true evolution in MMA. We have had tons of legends in the past 5 to 10 years who have ended or will formally end their careers. I.e. Jon Jones, Anderson Silva, GSP, Demetrious Johnson, etc.

Now those are legends, no doubt. But there are also high calibre fighters who have also retired or are at the tail end of their careers.

Altogether, once these guys formally retire. Some of them will move on to coaching the next crop of fighters. Now of course, some will be shitty coaches. But some will be special; imagine GSP in your corner. This guy would be a genius, it'll be crazy to watch old GSP mentoring the next breed of fighter. Hell we would be pretty old ourselves.

These aren't your old mc dojo guys either who fought amateur 20 to 30 years ago and have flaky bios of belts and trophies. We are talking high level, high calibre, true champions who could be possibly training the next breed of fighters.

This next breed of fighter is going to be something special boys. You just wait and see.

Footowork. Fighters are getting better and better with their footwork.

And Grappling too because BJJ is always evolving. You can see that leg locks and leg attacks are increasingly becoming more and more popular in mma.

Lol that idiot has no idea what he's talking about as usual. Besides that run Paul Harris was on when he dropped to WW leg locks haven't been effective in MMA. BJJ nerds kept spouting it was gonna be this next big thing but it's a meme

Dude you're completely clueless. If it's not effective then how comes every high level grapplers use it?

It's effective to an extent. Combat grappling is different than sport grappling. There's no strikes so grapplers have nothing to worry about when going for leg locks in sport grappling, in mma there are examples of fighters getting KO going for leg locks since both hands are being used to try and secure the leg and they leave their face open to strikes.

Still waiting for a high level muay thai stylist to make the crossover or really influence mma. We've had high level kickboxers, wrestlers, BJJ artists, etc. But the UFC has never had a stadium level talent, at least for men.
There's already one in the ufc.

fiziev is not lumpinee level but he's still by the most accomplished male muay thai fighters in the ufc.

You didn’t write what the next evolution will be. All you wrote was that the next generation of coaches will be better.

The next evolution of better fighters that we have never seen before will be a result of coaches who have actually competed professionally at a high level.

Leg locks and leg attacks are currently very trendy among high level mma grapplers. No one wants to follow Ryan hall to the ground because of his leg attacks.

Guys like Oliveira, Dariush and CDF are always looking to attack the legs whenever they're off their back. And knowing how to defend against leg locks and various leg attacks are part of MMA evolution too.

I'll help with the next evolution once I get funding/investors. Until then I'll keep that information to myself. That information will require money and will not be given for free. The next wave of fighters are going to be on that "new new" style.
