What The Real Next Evolution Will Be in MMA

It's not just 1on1. If you can teach one person you can teach many. I've trained in lots of different places so I know what I'm doing is different and I know I can teach it to others because I already have. My fighters will rule the future in combat sports once I fully switch over to that goal.

Well, we'll see LOL.

I thought you've been mocking me with your posts as in making fun of my position.

I already pieced it together into a cohesive style by the time ufc 2 came out.

See, I mean if I do end up training an elite group of super soldiers , and I might.

I'm trying to kind of change the system of the best gym mentality where gyms are competing for students.

That system, the current system, It divides people, families even.

I'm not thinking in terms of is BJJ better or wrestling or MMA or whatever either.

When I mean synergize, in the context of my earlier post, I'm not talking about creating a competing gym or style. I'm talking about synergizing with the current infrastructure so that it can produce a strong base for MMA in the future.

I'm talking about creating infrastructure that helps professional martial artists to be able to retire, if they want, and not have to worry about competing for students to put food on the table.

I'm talking about a paradigm shift.

Your speaking more about the pay structure for mma and not so much mma's evolution in skillset. No combat sports has a retirement plan. Fighters are supposed to use the money they made while fighting to invest into something for when they retire. I don't think any sports has some kind of retirement plan where they are getting paid while they aren't actively playing. I know bareknuckle is trying something out with taking a percentage that you can get when you retire, but it' s just a percentage of your pay so it's not going to really equal a lot once you retire. So it's not really a solid plan in place.

Now we know it's going to be mid-fight shoving since Klose just got TKO'd by a shove.

I'd hope for a real scouting system and a draft-like prospect list implemented by the biggest org, but doesn't look like that's on the table soon. Scouting is arguably the most important aspect in sports business, so the lack of it in MMA (or just UFC) is strange.

Technique wise the recent thing is calf kicks. A bigger topic in that is knowing physiology in a sport where almost all areas can be targeted. GSP has always studied this. And GSP has no ego, is willing to learn and is known as one of the most well-rounded, so the transition to coaching could be natural.

Coaching is a very individual thing. All great fighters can't be coaches. Rampage is a shit coach. Conor was as well on TUF. Tito was a good coach. Ken was bad. The alpha males focus too much on themselves, can't dedicate their life to the pupil.

I was never a big Tito fan, but he was a very good, committed coach on TUF. He never gave up on fighters, even after they lost and were out of the tournament.

Id like to see hogh level boxing skills. Pull counter, shoulder rolls and check hooks
The problem with the pull counter is that you could pull back and eat a headkick if they disguise it well. Shoulder roll is harder to pull off in small gloves. But the check hooks could be really really good. I've seen Costa use them a lot, he dropped Romero in the 1st with it, and that was the punch that rocked Uriah hall right before the finish

I already created the skillset in the early 90's, I was the one chosen to do it.

I agree with the first, but heavy handed wrestlers have dominated the mid cards for a good while now. Its a good combo because of the reasons you stated, but rarely seems to be good enough to beat more well rounded strikers.

There's been a lot of instances of heavy handed wrestlers starching much better strikers standing.

Programmable cyborgs. Why are we even talking about this?

Yeah but all of the above are champs or fighters who were really close to become champ. Im speaking more about the lower ranked fighters who at some point hit a wall in their career.
