What Salary Would Make You Pay for PPVs?

if illegal streams or torrents didn't exist i wouldn't have a problem buying them. I make good money as a doctor, wife works, no kids.

but to me its like two of the same items on the shelf at a store. One item is free and i can just pick it up and walk out the store without stopping at the register, the other is $80 and requires me to maintain a subscription.

pretty easy decision. same with video games, movies, music.

Think it's more money in the bank / disposable income rather than salary.

That being said in some cases is it genuinely easier to stream something illegally than it is to be a PPV for an organisation.

No, that's not it at all. If we are talking wealth you will hear terms like leverage, opportunity cost and capital gains never salary and income. Politicians use those terms to gaslight the masses, but in reality the legal impact of those terms phases out even at very low levels of wealth.
Lets put it this way...i pay to watch them but I just dont pay Dana to watch them..

I use to... I just dont anymore atleast not regularly anymore...its not a monetary thing..just a choice..

Obviously $160 a month for two ppvs aint nothing to sneeze at for most...myself included but its doable... And if needed to i could have some buddies or family members over and split it...

I just found another way and stuck with it.

Guess what cool guy, no one pays Dana to watch them! PPV buys don't impact Dana or the UFC's financials. They already made their money selling their content to the distributor who then tries to make more money from people paying for the event and ads than they paid UFC.

And if you are paying to watch the events through unauthorized channels as your post indicates, that is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. Who pays to steal?

I also have no idea where you are getting this $160 a month from since UFC very rarely holds more than one PPV a month. I do understand that $80 is a lot of money for a lot of people, but nothing to others especially those that regularly attend the events live since you can barely get a water for that in the arena.

I have a cousin who does very very well for himself. He bought his son a $1,000 motorcycle jacket for safety. I think it inflates if you have a rough fall. He buys all the PPVs.

At a party during the Jones/Gane fight he lost his shit when he saw the quality on my phone. I sent him the site and he hasn't bought a PPV since then. The quality on the streams used to be hit and miss but once they went ESPN+ it's always top quality now.

<PlusJuan>Especially since now PPVs are running commercials on them. Imagine paying $80+ for an event and you still have to sit through advertisements.
I’ve said for a long time the amount of greed there is absurd. The triple dip. Subscription, pay per view, AND ads. All of that for 3 hours of television entertainment priced at damn near $100 in the end. Gotta be one of the worst deals ever for consumers, no matter how good the card is.

You must be one of them ObamaCare doctors. Just like I am thankful I can afford to pay for UFC I am more thankful I can pay to not have government healthcare. Trump is POTUS with friendly control of every branch, Gascon is out, Prop 36 is passed, that stuff at the store won't be free much longer.

does Disney+ include the PPVs for that subscription price? the night of the event?
Yes, Disney+ includes ESPN+ for the same price and that covers all the PPVs, and a shit ton of others sports I don't watch.

Now watching my latest invoice is about 14/15 USD per month. Still cheap.

I'm double checking on that, because that might be region specific, because here you can get ESPN+, but the cost of PPVs is separate and you have to pay for them.

If not, that's an amazing freakin deal.

Dana told us to go fuck ourselves and never buy another PPV again if we did not like 125 pounders headlining, so.... No U and Fine to Dana

LOL Trump promised everyone could pick their own healthcare plan and government would pay for it. You will get lied to, fucked, and like it/

dang that is cheap. we gotta shell out 80$ a month for PPVs in the USA. its 11.99/month for ESPN+

I pay $10 a month for an android tv box and can watch unlimited combat sports from every promotion across several combat styles without ppv charges (boxing ,kickboxing,jiujitsu,mma,etc)...plus all the regular tv channels and video of demain videos from Netflix and other major streaming platforms (apple tv,prime,crave,disneyetc)...

So it's really the convenience....i pay $10 and get it all ...

But ya im dumb according to you... .

Maybe if the revenue spilt was more even for the fighters ...and not 18% id consider buying again and give more to the fighters...

I order most - I like the UFC I may as well pay for it. Though the price is a little high. I didn't order this one.

The Pink Goof ain’t getting a fucking cent from me.

<31>

100% this.

I can afford it, but I'd rather pay for Rizin (when you had to) and other smaller shows that actually need me.

Also I don't care about watching it live, in fact, I prefer to watch it later and fast forward through all the BS.

I know what a Kodi box is bro. I'm no stranger to the warez world, I was kinda involved in that world for some time to say the least. I'm not saying you are dumb. I'm saying be honest with yourself. You are flat out stealing because you can't afford to pay for the things you want.

Stop with this "it's really the convenience", "it is not a monetary thing", "if the revenue split was more even for the fighters" crap. It is no one else's fault, no one is forcing you to do it, and there is no justification that makes it right. Those are clear signs you know you are doing wrong by stealing and don't feel good about yourself for doing it so use that as motivation to one day be able to afford to pay for that stuff and feel good about yourself.

I have a few friends over and we always split the cost. My share is typically 10 to 20 dollars.

I can't pretend to know you but you get to pretend you can afford to pay for UFC? That's no fun. Do we also still gotta pretend your crib and ride ain't in yo mama's name? You thought I couldn't see you cuz?

Haha thanks for not taking me too seriously man. I got a bit nostalgic there for a minute hearing someone talk about Kodi, it has been a while, what's your MySpace?

That's a good way to do it. It was kinda the same when I have my friend @Paolo Delutis over but I'm not sure if he really understands what it means to split the cost because just before we figure out everyone's share, he always splits.
