i have the memory of an alzheimers sufferer, but it seemd to rotate. there was nobody like cena. terry taylor, butch reed, ted dibiase, magnum ta and jake all seemed to have good runs.

was ernie ladd, dick slater too. man, everyone was there back then.

Grew up in Knoxville, TN in late 70s, early 80s. We got a little bit of everything here. The Fullers ran the local territory at the time, but on TV we had Georgia Championship Wrestling, Championship Wrestling from Florida, and when we got real lucky a friend with satellite TV could catch World Class.

I wasnt really familiar at all with WWF until Staurday's Main Event and Superstars started airing locally.

My earliest memories of wrestling are of Ric Flair feuding with Steamboat(first feud in late 70s) and Harley Race. In the south in the late 70s/early 80s there was a time when there was NO bigger star than Wildfire Tommy Rich, and I fell right in line as a huge fan of his.

WWF, Hogan and Rock & Wrestling era

Everything else looked and felt really bush league

Although I did occasionally watch a bit of GLOW, just for the T & A

World of sport in the UK .
Late 70's and 80's watching my uncle johnny...
That's johnny saint to you folks...do a quick search on YouTube and you'll find plenty of matches.
Then wcw and WWF early 90s when we got satellite telly..

But it was ECW that made me come out of the closet and be a rassling fan without giving a fuck what anyone thought..
Converted a few pals along the way too..

And yeah...I know I'm older than I look..:)

I grew up in Texas in the early eighties as well and remember seeing a lot of these guys live at the local Civic Center. A few other names you might remember from the same Promotions
Rick and Scott Casey
Billy Joe Travis
a few others I can picture in my head but cant remember.
and do you remember the two (either black or aboriginal) guys that accompanied the Sheepherders sometimes? They just called them The Sheep?
