I saw this mentioned in the Pro Wrestling History thread, which I cannot post in btw!!!!

Anyways- what, where, when, and how did you grow up on?

I lived in Ontario and used to watch the NWA on Saturday mornings on Cleveland 43 in the 80s. I want to say it was a catch-all show that included multiple different promotions. I have this memory of Jimmy Valiant feuding with the Assassins in Smokey Mountain Wrestling.

In the late 80s and 90s, Maple Leaf Wrestling on Saturday night at like 7ish. Again, awesome memory of seeing Andrea vs. Kamala in a cage!!

Then came the WWF, and it was epic from wrestlemania 1 through 5 or 6 for me.

You?

When I was a kid wrestling was still regional so I had WWF being up in Jersey. We had WCCW broadcasting on ESPN and NWA on TBS so I saw both of those as well.

WWF was the mainstay, though.

Mid-South wrestling and Georgia Championship Wrestling, mostly. I spent time in St. Louis, so I also saw Wrestling at the Chase. I saw the AWA on ESPN, WWF house shows from MSG, the Philadelphia Spectrum, and Boston Gardens on the USA Network. I got to see some of WCCW as well.

I read a lot of the wrestling kayfabe magazines as well.

Got into rasslin with the MTV/WWF Rock N Wrestling Connection in the mid 80's
On Saturdays we had a day long rasslin marathon

Crockett Promotions at 6:05 am
AWA at 9 am
WWF at 10 am
Lucha Libre in the afternoon
Crockett Promotions at 3:05 pm
Pro Wrestling This Week at 5 pm
GLOW at 6 pm
POWW or some other random promotion at 7 pm
WWF at 10 pm
WWW/Crockett at 11 pm

Sunday

WWF at 10 am
WWF at noon
Crockett at 3:05 pm
UWF at 10 pm

Monday

WWF Prime Time Wrestling at 5 or 6 pm

Weekday afternoons we had AWA/WCCW/USWA on ESPN at 1 pm

Plus there were random promotions that would pop up on different channels here or there and then disappear after a few weeks

Just edited to add in 3 more Saturday shows that I forgot about at first
Saturdays were frickin awesome!

so you gre up in Philly? the place to be in the 80/90s apparently.
Naw Im from the Bay Area
My local San Francisco territory was a big deal at one time but I was born in 76 and it closed up shop in 79 or not long after so thats the one thing I didnt get to enjoy growing up during the territories era

Late 80's/early 90's WWF. My dad was a WCW guy and got me into wrestling but I instantly preferred WWF. I remained a WWF guy through the course of the Monday Night Wars even when they were losing in the ratings. Despite losing a lot of stars I always felt it was the superior product. WCW looked and felt like a combination of minor league and where guys who made their name in WWF went when they were washed up.

I grew up on Long Island, so mainly WWF. Also had WCCW on cable along with NWA/WCW.

WWF at noon on Saturdays (Superstars on Fox or channel 11) and Sundays (All American Wrestling on USA after Cartoon Express.)
Eventually got to start watching Prime Time Wrestling (precursor to RAW) which ruined weekend wrestling because they just replayed the matches.

Couldn't understand why or how anyone could or would watch wrestling without the Hulkster. Nitro fixed that with my first cruiserweight match.

i moved to texas in 1984 and that is when i got into Mid South wresling. I remember on Saturday nights watching an hour of Benny Hill just to get to wrestling. then paul boesh would come on and it was my favorite hour of the week.

Jim Duggan (not a retard)
Jake Roberts (no snake)
Koko B Ware (no bird)
Ted Dibiase (Broke, but with a leather glove)
Rob Richsteiner (sp?)
Sheepherders
Al Perez
Magnum TA
Tim Horner
Steve Williams
Hercules Hernandez
Master G
Brickhouse Brown
The Snowman
Humongous
with people like Dick Murdoch stopping by occasionally

damn, i loved those days.

I got in to wrestling in 1987, watched everything that came on TV. WWF, WCCW, JCP/WCW, got huge in to Japanese wrestling with VHS tapes in the early 90's with NJPW and AJPW.

Started with WWF with Andre, Hogan, Earthquake, Bossman Koko B. Ware..

Then WCW & GWF with Sting, Muta, Four Horsemen, Norman, Steiners, the Patriot, Lightning Kid.

And along came ECW with RVD, Lance Storm, Taz, Austin, Dudleys.

I started watching during the attitude era. Literally my first wrestling memory is Goldust hitting a double axe-handle off the top rope.

That's right, Goldust got me into wrestling.

But I primarily watched the WWF/E, and only rarely WCW.

WCW, didn't have access to others. I was just in time to get first hooked and then see the beginning of the NWO.
