What movies have not aged well?

You can scan old film reels into 4K (or even 8K) and that breathes new life into old movies. Example Apocalypse Now (1979):

Definitely those Kung Fu movies where the hero is surrounded by bad guys and they take turns attacking him one at a time. And each guy goes down to one strike.

Jackie Chan movies have held up really well however due to the over the top, ridiculous stunts, and the fact he gets his ass kicked in fights.

Any mission impossible besides the 2 most recent additions. They get worse the further you go back.

Last year I tried watching m.i. 1 and I thought to myself how horrible it was. But I remember it being the coolest shit when it came out

Damn, I better rewatch 1 because that was one that I really liked.

What I want to know is why do the people of wakanda selfishly keep their amazing technology to themselves and live in total prosperity, while letting the rest of Africa starve?

Not to get off topic but it was one of the things that drove the plot in the movie so in a way it was necessary.

every single comedy after ten years

So true. Those early 2000s "we college bros need to get laid" movies feel horribly dated.

Come to think of it, maybe all romance movies will seem dated because of how much courting has changed.

Showed this to my gf last year. She loved it. I also enjoy it everytime

Wow when put into HD to compare to modern movies, the colors/ sets/ props/ and even special effects totally dominates modern movies.

I'm gonna get some shit for this but...maybe Ghostbusters? I love it of course but I wonder how someone that has never seen it and especially a kid would react to it now? It's sense of humor is so different from practically anything. It's really not a kids movie but kids were drawn to it for some reason and it's not an overtly funny movie.

It takes a certain person to appreciate the dry and subtle humor. I think most people would just be bored by it nowadays.

I also hate to say it but the original Superman. I watched it for the first time since I was a kid and it was a bit of a chore to get through. I thought Reeves was excellent, as was Kidder but the story, weird comedy and bad special effects just don't work well now. Groundbreaking for the time but extremely dated looking at it now.

are you saying it's dated because they didn't find each other on a dating app, both swipe right, meet up at Chipotle and insta-smash?

Underrated post, IMO

Every Marvel movie.
This is funny, but it's going to be true pretty soon. I think GOTG will remain timeless because it was that "style" done the best, but the Marvel movie thing ended for me after Endgame.. Which I found fairly disappointing.

The Warriors.

Still great though.

Pulp fiction has always been junk.
