What knife did you carry today?

I've been carrying a Spyderco Persistence for a couple of days so I thought I'd post some first impressions.

Pros:
Sharp out of the box
Thin
Fits my hand well
Opens smoothly and locks tightly
I feel it's a good value (I got for $35 shipped)

Cons:
I stripped the screws when trying to change the pocket clip to tip up carry. The metal must be very soft. I'll be carrying this one tip down apparently.
It rides pretty high in my pocket, probably about 1/2 inch.
It's pretty wide so my hand doesn't fit comfortably in pocket when I'm wearing pants that aren't loose.

Verdict:
I like the knife and would certainly give one as a gift. It's a good value and feels solid.
The blade is a great length and it will be in the rotation, but it won't replace my Kershaw Cryo as my go to EDC.

Would the Spyderco Ambitious make a good first knife for my girlfriend..?
And what are you guys planning on getting next? I'm eyeballing an Extrema Ratio fixed...

That looks like a good knife to me. Kershaw Leek and Skyline might be good choice as well.

I carry a swiss army knife.

Dont judge me... I was a boy scout. We carried them everywhere :D

Just got a Byrd Cara 2 in FRN. Using it the pass 3 days or so, I like it a lot kinda a bigger blade but just getting the feel for it because I'm planning on getting a Endura or Police.

Being a boy scout is part of why I don't carry a Swiss army knife.
The versatility is nice, but 95 times out of 100 all I need is the blade
SOG Flash Tanto, black on black on black on black.
Enjoy it enough that I didn't hesitate when my old one went missing.

EDIT: Huh, I'm blue now.

I still carry one. They're great! Very easy to sharpen and come in super handy when I'm travelling.

The Police is an underrated blade.

FUck! Just lost my folder, this is why i can't own expensive carry knives. I somehow lose them....almost as bad as lighters...some asshole out there has a really nice knife..Anyway this is my current:

I just lost my folder, too. It was a Spyderco Tenacious that put in work for like three or four years. The only other folder/edc type knife I had was a Gerber something that I gave away so I'm knife-less right now. I've narrowed it down to three. Cold steel Mini Recon 1, Ontario Rat 2 or whatever it's called now and maybe an Esee Izula.

Esee hands down. Better heat treat than Ontario and their warranty is second to none.

Also funny when they told Nutnfancy to go fuck himself at Shot Show.

What's their beef with him? I like his reviews.

The story goes that Nutn was being a bit of a jackass at their booth during one Shot Show. Nutn decided to stop featuring ESEE on his project; they couldn't care less.

What's their beef with him? I like his reviews.

He was at Shot show and expected them to ignore all of their customers and focus on him. People who were there say he was acting like a total douchebag and just kept ranting "but I'm nutnfancy" to them over and over again.

The reps at Esee continued to ignore him and went on record saying their customers are their number 1 priority above all else.

Ditched my Cold Steel Recon recently because the lock got fubared after a camping trip. Carrying this atm:

Recon's have the Tri-Ad lock, do they not? I'm curious to hear about the circumstances that the knife failed under.
