What knife did you carry today?

Which one. I was looking at the Leatherman Juice 2 as per Nutnfancy. But I'd get the one without the corkscrew.

I was "ballin' out of control" during my last multitool purchase; I picked up the Leatherman Charge TTi for $130ish. I tend to favour the larger, full size multitools just because of their added capabilities (I've used it quite a bit for electronic projects on my car) but the miniature ones are pretty decent as well for small tasks like yanking staples.

As with a knife, you want to evaluate your personal lifestyle and try to determine what sorts of tasks you encounter on a regular basis. From there, you can start shopping for a multitool based on your needs.

As I mentioned earlier, I do quite a bit of electrical work, so having proper wire crimpers was crucial to me which is why I pulled the trigger on a $130 Charge TTi instead of an $80 Wave.

Yeah I hear you. Key for me is something that won't be so heavy that it pulls my pants down. LOL!

Speaking of tools that are more than just edged tools, I picked up a Victorinox Swiss Card Lite last week. Handly little thing to have in the wallet or pocket, I think I'll start giving them out as gifts as well; it seems much more palatable to pantywaists because it's more than just a knife.

Picked up a new push dagger and tenacious today. They'll be in my daily lineup for the forseeable future.

Carried my Spyderco Military today and GOD DAMN did it feel good.

Zero Tolerance 0350

Perfect size, quality blade, great balance, nice grippy handle, 4-position pocket clip, tucks away nicely inside my belt loop.

Oddly enough I carried one of these today. I found it while I was out training yesterday. This makes the fourth knife I've found while training in the last year.

On my next deployment I'm getting and Infidel 3300.

It may be gimmicky but I will stab the fuck out of someone with it and they will never see it coming. Stab terrorist of course. lulz

This one. Just finished it today for a coworker. 7 1/2 overall w/ 3 1/2 in blade, 550 paracord wrap on the handle. Steel came from a massive slaughterhouse butcher knife.

Is the swedge sharpened? What did you do for HT?

Thread:
I'm carrying a new SOG Trident, however it's not my style and I'll probably sell it.

Thinking you should inform nutnfancy of his error so he can update the video. He says it's a single-purpose knife, i.e. defense.

You, on the other hand, pointed out that it can also be used for offense, which effectively makes it a dual purpose knife.

Yes, the swedge is sharpened. The edges look a little funny since I left about an inch of the original butcher knife edge intact for shaving/ push cuts. Since this was a cut and grind job, I did not need to heat treat it. Spark tests/ difficulty of filing indicate its around the 50-55 rockwell hardness.

Today I'm carrying my new SOG Flash 1. It's a small, very light ao folder.

I'd be careful there though, because cutting/grinding generates enough heat to break down the structure of the steel. It could still be hardened, but that's not the same as a proper heat treat.

Essentially grinding it down is a form of annealing unless certain measures are taken.
