Sci fi is probably the genre(although a pretty loose one) were I agree most with the typically hyped options as being the best examples of it, Blade Runner, 2001, Stalker, Alien, Solaris, The Thing, Terminator etc

Beyond that Under The Skin probably just about falls under it and that's IMHO up their with the best films this decade.

Body Snatchers is fucking amazing. For anyone that hasn't seen it I would say it's a must. Still probably wouldn't put it over Blade Runner but it is a great
