Do you happen to have the gif of his constant eye pokes in that fight?
There was a slowed down gif that showed some of the most subtle well placed eye pokes I have ever seen. I was mad at the time, but after I was impressed because it seemed he had worked out how to use eye pokes effectively. He could have sold that eye poke system as a martial art back in the 90s hahaha. It was all done with subtle shots to the eye with his thumb etc.
edit: found it
Huh..Erick is spelled with a K.
I met Gunnar Nelson once when I was in my town centre going for a meal with my family. I was walking up the stairs to the place and he’s walking down and I sort of stared him out but he didn’t look away, he had that dead stare like Fedor has, as I was trying to figure out where I recognised him from. Really surreal moment and I found out later that he was here with his team to help some low level fighters in a small tournament
Bro...what's really surreal is that you lived to type this. Are you cute and chubby like a pug, and is that the reason he spared you?
Yep and then we got a ton of ignorant people talking like Gunnar is a Conor wannabe and hating on him for being associated with Conor. Conor pretty much modelled his style off of Gunnar.I always liked Gunnar. Unique fighter. Karate style striking mixed with great BJJ.
Remember when Conor McGregor was introduced as Gunnar Nelson's teammate?
Totally, Gunnar was a mentor. Gunnar comes from a karate background. Conor comes from a boxing background. Where else did he get his karate stance from?Yep and that we got a ton of ignorant people talking like Gunnar is a Conor wannabe and hating on him for being associated with Conor. Yeah they used to spar and grapple each other all the time as well, have they trained together in recent years? It's sad we've still got pathetic Conor haters shitting on Gunnar. Like come on, he's one of the most respectful fighters in the sport yet people hate him because he trained with Conor.Totally, Gunnar was a mentor. Gunnar comes from a karate background. I wonder about their current relationship as well. I haven't heard Conor mention him in ages. Gunnar seems like he would be a nice, grounding influence. Perhaps they've gone their separate ways.Yeah they used to spar and grapple each other all the time as well, have they trained together in recent years? Eh weight cuts are part of the game,The weight thing is so cutting, cuz he's like the one guy who wants to be honest in a sea of dishonesty, so it only makes him look like an idiot to the masses.
Massive weightcuts are dangerous. He doesn't believe in them. I think he can't be cutting more than 10 pounds any time he fights.
