What Glory should do to win the fans?

tot agree.

they need to create more genuine content to promote fighters, create a story, engage the audience. nodody's taking any lesson from buakaw's marketing manual and it's so strange that in the era where self promotion is the norm for 11 years old you have fighters with no fanpage and private ig accounts. no videos,no content no interaction nothing to tell....no wonder an asshole like hari still generates interest. i don't follow glory like i follow chinese promotions because i perceive them as less genuine and less engaging, cold almost. they take themselves too seriously and it gets boring and repetitive.
Yeah true. My 16 year old cousin has more followers than Robin Van Roosmalen. Fighters should really promote themselves better.

No joke, K-1 Japan is actually forcing its Japanese fighters to under go "Social Media Classes" sponsored by Abema

Kido is obviously looking at a cell under his desk

they should hire me...that's basically my job.

i'd ghostwrite the shit out of all of them.
my dream client would be kunlun way easier case than glory tbh,but individual fighters (non-asian) would be easier.

i did quote myself instead of editing..k

I dunno, that Chi Lewis Parry guy has quite the social media presence. Such a character, and Glory is really giving him a big push. His interaction with Rico after the previous event couldn't have gone any better.

am I the only one who doesn't care about fighters personalities?
You're not, but the fact that you take time out of your day to go on a forum like this means that you're probably a little more invested than the average casual fan. Most of us just want to see the best fighters fight each other, but for the casual fan it's easier to follow what is going on if they have some sort of personality, fabricated or not, that they can link to a name.

It doesn't have to be their personality, but there should be a story. Anything to make it more interesting for the average combat sports fan

At the very least advertise the shit out of their product. They should have done it every time they had a new investor.

As I remember correctly a dozen of the top Glory-fighters did some social media lessons in a class-room (in 2014) in the Netherlands (how to interact with the fans)

i'm curious about their personal story actually but mostly i'd like to see the training process better, enter the life of a professional fighter for a moment. what their mind state is and how they handle it,if they shit themselves, what they think about the opponent, if they were fighting with injuries or whatever the hell they are going through....before and after a fight.

I don't understand why they keep doing events in the US, the fans are in Europe and Japan (look at the K-1 history).

I'm now forced to watch the main card at 5am(!) or tonight at 10.15pm on Dutch SpikeTV. Why didn't they start the main card at 8pm ET (2am over here) since they're on the East Coast.

Cheaper talent is probably the reason.

I'm not saying your thoughts on telling a story are totally wrong here but please tell me the life story and drama behind any of the fights or fighters on UFC 204 besides the co-main and main event!

Lol. Are you here to dismiss our opinions?

I don't have enough insight in UFC to answer your question, but there doesn't have to be a book or a fairy tale about the fighters. But at least they should get some exposure outside of the ring. All of the UFC fighters get more exposure outside of the ring than Glory fighters. Their shit is always popping up in my facebook feed, and i don't even follow their pages.

For the next glory card, the most interesting fight to me is RvR vs Varga. I have been following both for a while and although i'm not their biggest fan i'd still like to watch the fight because i care about the result. I know their story to some degree.

I like some of the guys that are fighting in the same card, but i don't know enough about their opponents. Some of the opponents i've never even heard of before. If i want to look them up, it's hard to find any info, fighting record, interviews or training videos of them. In other words, no story.

As someone who is probably in the top 1% of society in terms of MMA fandom, I'm not really interested in anyone outside the main and co-main event besides Struve, and I probably wouldn't care about him if he wasn't 6'11.

You can't be serious. Just go to the UFC youtube page and see how many videos there are of Bisping, Henderson, Mousasi, Belfort, Manuwa and OSP at their homes, while training, in their daily lives and doing interviews. The UFC has multiple Embedded videos per event in which they do that stuff all the time.

None of the main card fighters in Glory 33 were American and most of the SFS fighters were international as well with a few well known names in there.

No Trolling - Do not make posts that are deliberately offensive or provocative with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them. This includes making accusations of fixed fights and race-baiting posts. Orchestrating forum raids is also considered trolling and can result in a ban.

@PUO3

Are there any mods in this subforum that actually read/write anything here without someone sending a report?

I always wanted to see a forum raid, what would that even be like? Just going to a certain thread and posting a bunch of jokes?
