Id say its on the level of "Inglorious Bastards" but really nonstop gore instead of a few scenes here and there.lol

But seriously, anyone who enjoys mindless gore and shock, hasn't mentally left 17. It just screams unselfwareness, cringe, and immaturity.

Yeah? So's your face bro!!!

Really though, I'm a horror fan. Since Night of the Living Dead way back when. Gore is often part of horror and is in itself an art form. Some done better than others. Like any aspect of film.

The Fly remake had some gore in it that made perfect sense.

Depends how you define mindless I suppose. Crazy how different people have different interests.

I don't like gore, or films whose point is to be as appaling and repulsive as possible. A Serbian Film? Come on.

The most violent film I have ever watched was Battle Royale, but it had a good story to back up the violence.

Somebody mentioned Requiem for a Dream. I'm not sure it belongs in a thread like this. Awesome movie regardless.

While I enjoy a lot of movies that contain very violent imagery & gore, I'm not a "gorehound" by any means. If the violence & gore is an integral part of the film's plot then I'm all for it. Some films just wouldn't have the same punch without it. But if a film's whole purpose is to wallow in it just for the sake of shocking & disgusting its audience then I'm really not interested.

For instance, something like I SAW THE DEVIL, Romero's DAWN OF THE DEAD & BONE TOMAHAWK are great films that just happen to have have extreme violence in them because it adds to their effectiveness. While films like A SERBIAN FILM & CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST are nothing without their gore.
I saw the devil was some brutal shit.

In the US/UK it does seem a strange situation that society seems much more ok with graphic violence onscreen than graphic sex.

I tend to steer clear of any movie which is grotesquely violent nowadays but I've seen a few nasties in my time. The French movie Martyrs was insanely brutal especially towards the end. I almost turned it off but the torture porn actually turned out to have a point in this case.

Irreversible has already been mentioned and rightly so, couple of real nasty scenes in there.

Come to think of it there was another French movie I saw a number of years back called Haute Tension which I recall was also bloody brutal. What's with those froggy bastards eh?

I Saw The Devil was a great movie but the violence was off the charts.
Ichi The Killer was just sick for sick sake and I soon had enough and turned off.

In terms of movies which were mainstream Sin City was ridiculously violent but since it was so ott and filmed in a comic book style it didn't hit so hard as some of the aforementioned more realistic movies.

If anyone is looking for outright violence you cant get much more shocking than

Beyond the Limits 2003 dinner table scene..

Its by Olaf Ittenbach ..

20 minutes of brutal killing of helpless folk tided up .. Extreme gore and realism ..

Easy out does Serbian and august underground ..

Indeed, it was. And that's just the R rated version which is what most people have seen. The Blu-ray, however, is the uncut version. Which one did you see?

The faces of death series are basically only scenes of graphic violence. Apart from that it's probably one of those 1970s exploitation flicks.
