good thread to vent about losing my inzer belt.

sucks

/rant

How do you do that? I'd go ape shit. Its envied by most at my gym, I know some want to steal it.
i honestly don;t know man. i haven't used it in a few years. the last time i remember having it was when i was staying at my mom's when i still had my 300 pound set in her basement, and i was doing box squats, and i accidentally dropped the bar behind me onto the belt. that was fucking painful lol.

You've just got to be comfortable. Deadlift and squat in proper shoes, and make sure that whatever else allows proper mobility and comfy-ness.

Ouch lol. Buy a new one! with the lever!

Deadlift -> socks
Squats -> Squat shoes
Bench -> Squat shoes

The rest doesn't fucking matter. Just don't wear a sleeveless fucking t-shirt.

It makes you look like a fucking retard.

The only guys that can get away with a sleeveless t-shirt are well developed bodybuilders.

The rest of us should be wearing sweatshirts. I love lifting/training muay thai/bjj in sweats and a long sleeve sweat shirt, over top of a t-shirt.

I sweat like crazy and feel great.

Flat shoes when I squat is all i care about. I've squated with no shirt on before.

I wear compression shorts when hill running and rolling.

i didnt want to go through the hassel of ordering oly shoes online (as i cannot find them anywhere where I am) I read that those converse chuck taylors are a low-rent substitute so I was the only non-emo to buy them at footlocker yesterday.

will this be good enough or will I really need the oly shoes?

Compression shorts?

On topic I tend to wear just socks (because I get bollocked at the gym for going bare footed...well i do for just socks but fuck'em) to lift, be it squat, dead, ohp whatever.
Swimming shorts and a lose t shirt also

Jeans and a t-shirt on upper body days, basketball shorts and a t-shirt on lower body days. stree shoes on days it doesn't matter, chucks on days it does.

I always wear a t shirt and basketball shorts.

I spend a decent amount of time at the gym. Time between sets is good for people watching. I see you finally figured out how to add an avatar.

so i'm not the only one that does this? whew.

i worked out in Sambas yesterday and thanks! i noticed a difference, esp. in squats. my form felt a lot better. i also decided to go in army fatigues and a tshirt - right now im training for the fire dept. so i wanted to do my lunged etc. in heavy pants. didnt bother me too much and it kept me a little warm. they keep it cold at my gym, which i hate.

almost forgot - i left the gloves at home at it did not negatively affect my lift at all. i'll lose them from now on.

About the squat shoes to bench, they aren't necessary but they help in the way others have said. I'm assuming your bench technique isn't perfect (not many even on here are, mine sucks), but you should use search to find old threads about incorporating leg drive and proper set up. If you aren't doing it at all, you might be able to go from 275 up to 300 in less time than you think.
