How tf does someone like Grasso become the champion if there is high level talent in the sport?

Be honest, did she look like an elite fighter in the fight against Valentina (Mind you, she is supposed to be a boxer who got into BJJ later, so don't give me the BS where you try to say she was a BJJ fighter who is still learning striking)?
Her striking looks like if Bethe Corriera had 1 year of training with an elite striking coach, Bethe would be on Alexa's level of striking, and its hilarious how this is all you need to become a champion of WMMA.
It's amazing at the highest level. Look at this striking by Pena! Wow!![]()
What about athleticismI think the big flaw in WMMA is their striking. Their grappling is totally good enough and BJJ caters well towards women's flexibility. But the striking is often just them popping each other in the nose for 15min. They don't have as much knockout power, and this makes them throw way fewer of the knockout haymaker punches, and just box more defensively in general. The nose taps get very repetitive and the lack of any chance for a KO really kills the excitement
Right now it mostly seems like women who were adults when they started taking mixed martial arts classes with no martial arts background prior
Rose is goodAn interesting point.
Rose Namajunas is an example of a female fighter who trained from a very early age, and despite
the Rose vs. Carla stinker of a fight, I think there are few Sherdoggers who would deny Rose's high-level skill set.
For the UFC its productive, for us fans its an abomination. They can now fill up 3-4 fights on each card = more events=more money. The price for fans is the same, but they have more events where 99% of women fights absolutely su**s.Yes, speak with your dollars. That;s all UFC cares about. Whining incessantly on Sherdog accomplishes nothing. If the women’s divisions weren;t drawing interest, they’d have dropped them long ago.
Right. That was the other overly emotional soy boy. You’re the overly emotional soy boy who came to your fellow soy boy’s aide, telling me to post the numbers, when I was never the one claiming to use numbers to back up my argument.Completely insufferable. Quit asking people to do this without doing it yourself. This is how you win arguments.
You sound retarded and never accomplish anything in any argument you're entering.
With your insufferable, posts just asking everyone else but yourself to prove their points, you automatically lose every argument.
Alexa is WAYYYY better than Bethe. otherwise she wouldnt have beaten Val. its pretty glaringly obvious that Alexa is a better fighter by her resume alone. stop seething because i pointed out something relevant that you cant find a rebuttal to.that mexican woman that beat Valentina reminds me Bethe Corriea.
she has zero hand eye coordination and everything she throws looks sloppy and it looks like she closes her eyes before she throws everything.
somehow, this woman is the champion.
yeah, nothing has changed.
yeah its just one of those things with mens vs womens physiology. there just simply arent as many "brute strength smash" capable women out there. dudes are generally stockier. Nunes, Andrade, Weili, Lemos, Rose sometimes, Molly sometimes.....there arent many women out there who have flattened their opponents with punching power. maybe im missing a few.I think the big flaw in WMMA is their striking. WMMA haters are all alike, it’s hard to keep track of who’s who.
