What do you think about WMMA

You mean like Alex Grasso lmfao?
How tf does someone like Grasso become the champion if there is high level talent in the sport?
Wow, we found a genuine short bus window licker.

I think the big flaw in WMMA is their striking. Their grappling is totally good enough and BJJ caters well towards women's flexibility. But the striking is often just them popping each other in the nose for 15min. They don't have as much knockout power, and this makes them throw way fewer of the knockout haymaker punches, and just box more defensively in general. The nose taps get very repetitive and the lack of any chance for a KO really kills the excitement

Be honest, did she look like an elite fighter in the fight against Valentina (Mind you, she is supposed to be a boxer who got into BJJ later, so don't give me the BS where you try to say she was a BJJ fighter who is still learning striking)?

Her striking looks like if Bethe Corriera had 1 year of training with an elite striking coach, Bethe would be on Alexa's level of striking, and its hilarious how this is all you need to become a champion of WMMA.

Yes she did. Grasso striking was high level in that fight

If you actually believe Grasso striking looked bad in that fight then you have no idea what you are looking at

Grasso was soundly outboxing Valentina is that fight. She was winning majority of striking exchanges.

Grasso was using southpaw to get into boxing range with Val. Grasso baiting Valentina with her jab

She was landing flush bombs on Valentina whenever she would pull back to counter. She turned Valentina into wrestler

Her striking, her grappling, even her fight IQ (she made several great adjustments on the fly) were all impressive in this fight .

Being unable to recognize that means you don’t really know what you are talking about

It's amazing at the highest level. Look at this striking by Pena

! Wow!

lol

What about athleticism

Right now it mostly seems like women who were adults when they started taking mixed martial arts classes with no martial arts background prior

An interesting point.

Rose Namajunas is an example of a female fighter who trained from a very early age, and despite
the Rose vs. Carla stinker of a fight, I think there are few Sherdoggers who would deny Rose's high-level skill set.

Love it.

I find it easier to get invested in the female fighters as I actually remember every one of them lol. It's harder with the men because the UFC signs just about everyone these days and a lot of the lower profile guys sorta just blend together.

Also, I gamble on MMA for my money, and betting on WMMA is way easier.

Yes, speak with your dollars. That;s all UFC cares about. Whining incessantly on Sherdog accomplishes nothing. If the women’s divisions weren;t drawing interest, they’d have dropped them long ago.
For the UFC its productive, for us fans its an abomination. They can now fill up 3-4 fights on each card = more events=more money. The price for fans is the same, but they have more events where 99% of women fights absolutely su**s.

Its an atrocious display of the sport and an embarrassment watching most women fights. They can barely throw a punch without falling down and look as coordinate as a drunk turtle.

Completely insufferable. Quit asking people to do this without doing it yourself. This is how you win arguments.
You sound retarded and never accomplish anything in any argument you're entering.
With your insufferable, posts just asking everyone else but yourself to prove their points, you automatically lose every argument.
Right. That was the other overly emotional soy boy. You’re the overly emotional soy boy who came to your fellow soy boy’s aide, telling me to post the numbers, when I was never the one claiming to use numbers to back up my argument.

WMMA haters are all alike, it’s hard to keep track of who’s who.

that mexican woman that beat Valentina reminds me Bethe Corriea.
she has zero hand eye coordination and everything she throws looks sloppy and it looks like she closes her eyes before she throws everything.

somehow, this woman is the champion.

yeah, nothing has changed.
Alexa is WAYYYY better than Bethe. otherwise she wouldnt have beaten Val. its pretty glaringly obvious that Alexa is a better fighter by her resume alone. stop seething because i pointed out something relevant that you cant find a rebuttal to.

yeah its just one of those things with mens vs womens physiology. there just simply arent as many "brute strength smash" capable women out there. dudes are generally stockier. Nunes, Andrade, Weili, Lemos, Rose sometimes, Molly sometimes.....there arent many women out there who have flattened their opponents with punching power. maybe im missing a few.
it does make watching WMMA frustrating lots of the time.

dont care. everytime a female fight comes up i watch a family guy episode instead

There's no reason why more of them can't have higher level skills. We've seen women that are A+ in all disciplines. The only big negative is their lack of power, which makes fights dull.

The biggest problem is the lack of depth in WMMA across the board. There aren't many women involved in WMMA, there aren't enough great athletes in WMMA and the talent pool is dirt shallow. People like the Karate Hottie, Angela Lee, Maycee Barber, PVZ, Aldana, Pena, should be dime a dozen types that are barely in the UFC. Instead they are placed prominently on main cards. They don't have the athleticism or skills to warrant it, but there's nobody else so there you go.

I don't know enough about regional/local MMA to know if better athletes are getting into MMA or transitioning from other sports (kickboxing, BJJ, cheerleading, soccer etc.).

If more women aren't doing WMMA then you'll see the same talentless hacks getting promoted. The only difference is that they should be getting better training at a younger age since they'll be in the UFC rather than in some random regional promotion where they have to work a day job.

I like WMMA, but I'll admit I don't follow as much as men's divisions, other than maybe men's flyweight.

except you were using numbers as part of your argument, enjoy living with your parents!
