I find it stale it is so top heavy. When you talk about great MMA fighters who are women you have

Nunes
Wei Li
Holly Holm
Rose
Joanna
Valentina
Ronda*

And out of those fighters above o would say only really Nunes and Weili have top tier athleticism and coordination maybe Valentina also

Outside of these fighters a lot of the rest of WMMA fighters are uncoordinated? The fight WMMA fight with Oliveria was shockingly bad.

It's not so much about the power as some of the lighter mens divisions do not have much power. It is that some wmma fighters are just awkward, plod forward in silly stances, throw arm punches it is just not entertaining. Many are not skilled?

There are not enough solid WMMA fighters to make a single deep division. The woman that fought Nunes yesterday looked like she was wading through mud, had a weird stance and was a punching bag.

The UFC must know this and maybe just use WMMA to bulk out the cards?

When will the skill level in WMMA raise?

I think the main problem with wmma is very few of the fighters have power in their punches. Most male fighters have the power to turn a fight with one good strike which add a different level where even someone getting beaten down still has the potential to turn it around

The only thing i find annoying is the shoving down MMA fans throats of it, sure fighting is fighting and shouldnt matter right? but the product is subpar for the most part, even when there are skills you know the KO factor is not there, i almost 100% of the times go for "decision" on Tapology for WMMA, the sole exceptions being fighters like Zhang, Andrade, Valentina (who goes to decision from time to time), Nunes (who also had decisions too, retired), Joanna (retired), Rose from time to time, point is, there is a select few that come to bang or actually fight to finish a fight as opposed to a lot that only come to point sparr, that product does not belong in the UFC, UFC should only have top contenders or title WMMA fights, you dont see a womens boxing fight on most boxing cards, or at least the big ones, you dont, it should be no different for the UFC.

95% of wmma honestly bores the shit out me. The 5% really consisted of Joanna and Amanda (early flights). Both now retired so they just smoke & food breaks <Fedor23>

Same. Top handful of gals are fun with decent skillsets, the rest is generally pitter patter fests going the distance. Usually sandwich or deuce-deuce break time.

Valentina is fun to watch too she´s skilled af, I agree the lack of power in WMMA striking is what it makes kinda boring as well as the lack of violent/agressive aproach due to hormone differences if compared with the men, but to be honest there are LOTS of boring male fighters out there lacking agresiveness, heart and skills but compared in numbers there are also LOTS of exciting male fighters to make all divisions interesting

the vast majority of invicta fighters crush the shit out of the soccer mom fighters in the UFC. outside of less than 10 fighters, the UFCs fighters compared to invicta is trash. those invicta badasses over there get paid very well, and arent coming to the UFC anytime soon. the lack of power in womans mma makes it subpar to even watch. when you see woman in there throwing leather like a man (ie nunes, holm, cyborg) it is exciting to watch. even most of the grappling techniques you see woman use are better performed at the high school level than pro womans mma level. for every one great womens mma fight there are 20-30 you have to suffer thru just to see that diamond in the rough.
at the same time you have to wonder why the level of competition is so trash. just go to a gym. you see 50 guys for every one female. getting punched in the face for a living just is not on the list of most womens goals in life. less ladies in the gym, less great fights you gonna see. go overseas and you see way more women in gyms learnign to fight. very common in asia.

Probably when more women from actual martial arts at a high level crossover.

Right now it mostly seems like women who were adults when they started taking mixed martial arts classes with no martial arts background prior

This
Completely amateur comparing with men mma
sorry if i offended some woke up here

Only WMMA I watch is strawweight's top 10. If there was Atomweight in the UFC I'd try watching it and I'd be surprised if they're not as skilled as strawweight. Maybe there's some WMMA worth watching in Rizin or ONE, not watched much though.

Hopefully ONE's 4oz MT can raise the level of both WMMA and men's MMA striking, if some of them learn wrestling. Or if non-MT MMA fighters watch 4oz MT and copy the techniques and strategies.
Bringing in more elite women from other sports (judo, MT, boxing, wrestling) would help. A lot of that'll be from non-USA countries, which the UFC hasn't tapped into properly. Is women's combats sports anywhere near as high level in USA (aside from outliers like Kayla) as in parts of Central, SE and East Asia?

Valentina and especially Nunes fights are boring to me - not competitive enough divisions. And Nunes getting jabbed all night by Peña was laughable for the supposed best. Can't imagine that happening to anyone who's ever defended their belt in any men's UFC division post-2000 or at women's strawweight.
