What Did Shane Carwin Have Over Tank Abbott?

Camera trickery dude. If anything there is 1cm between the hand sizes.
As observed there, they both have big hands but the angle away from Brock's and the outside shot give them a smaller appearence.
Photo hype is Sherbro science.

Wasn't there like a 100 page thread debating hand size when this pic originally happened?

A whole bunch of guys in this thread have had a lot of practice trying to explain away a girl's disappointment.

Who's skills are SO much better than his? Werdum couldn't take him down and if Carwin landed it'd be over real quick. Cain couldn't take him down early and while his striking is more polished, again, one shot from Carwin is all it would take. Only time Carwin looked bad was against a guy who was a stylistic nightmare matchup for him. Carwin would be a top 5 guy right now.

Carwin would not be a top 5 now....lol

Carwin could beat anyone at HW right now. Lesnar just smoked Hunt which would put him right around top 5. And Carwin was obviously VERY close to beating Lesnar. Cain's probably the toughest test for him, but Carwin still has the power and TD defense to give anyone problems.

They're just swinging arms and breathing heavy. Anyone 220+ could do that stuff.

What kind of a question is this?.... I seriously am befuddled!

Shane carwin is probably the most overated fighter ever lol.

He had big power in the HW division which usually means of you land you win. But...his skillset was not that good and the skills of guys now are way better. And i like carwin.
If Carwin skills are not that good, and i kinda agree, imagine Tank Abbott in today mma.
MMA got so much better that Tank would lose to every fighter over 170.

This whole "xxx fighter in his prime..." need to stop, every fighter from today would wreck your favorite fighters from 10 years ago.

Carwin wouldn't pass a drug test these days, he shrunk considerably over time and his body fell to bits

Well, there's this ...

A power puncher with little technical training who doesnt mix it up and has horrible BJJ does suck.

Its what i implied in my post without taking the time to spell it out like this.

And now you took the time to spell it out and we're all better people for it.

10 years ago Fedor, Kharitonov, Aleks, Nog, and Barnett were all in their athletic primes. I would favour Cain and JDS over those versions of them and a couple other modern day fighters might get a maybe from me. Mind you, that's at HW and it's so easy to get laid out in that division.

Now if you wanna talk 15-20 years ago, I agree without question.

Tank was a freak athlete at one point.

Yes.
And for weird reasons, he was the face of the UFC and kept it alive.
He should be HOF.

It was like F you and your black belts; if you can't hang w Tank, give up fighting.
He's drinking beer and eating burgers, while you're training.

I would actually favor a young prime Tank over Carwin. When Tank first burst onto the scene he was not that fat. He actually moved really well and was much quicker than Carwin. I think Abbott beats Carwin to the punch. He would land the first one that rocks Carwin and then Tank swarms for the finish

if carwin ko'd someone and walked away with his arms out like matua he would be tank 2.0
