What did I say!!!!!!!! Where are all these JEAN bandwagoners

The only good Fighting Nerd is my boy Michal.

He does his homework.

Did people not watch the fight? I was super impressed with Silva and my opinion of him as a fighter rose after tonight. Although I would much more prefer it if he stopped being ultra reckless because he would be much better that way.
I saw massive grappling disaparity not the type of well rounded ness you want to see at the top of the division might be a top 10 guy, dont think he's a top 5 guy

fun and exciting fighter for sure.

everyone picked lopes to win because of the volk fight. volk doesnt get enough credit, lopes was just a can after that in the eyes of the casual.... silva had moments, but lopes dominated the first and finsihed in the second. Lopes is a real deal guy. an undeniable top 5 guy. Not sure silva would beat sterling after this.

I just called Silva a piece of shit for the cheap shot in the PBP, and I stand by it. But let's not act like he got destroyed. He escaped a real bad position in rd1 after taking a ton of shots and came back. Diego's steel chin carried him through most of round 2 because he was easily losing it until he caught Silva with the elbow. Great fight overall.

i thought lopes was great value. I knew he was good after the volk fight but I didn't realize how fucking good his chin is. Its top 5 right now he ate fucking shots

Awesome fight. If anything Im more off a fan now

That’s what I was saying. Lopes had a way stronger competition and proved himself. But Silva had an impressive last win and Diego had a loss, so it was probably a recency bias and oddsmaker fell for it. But I saw in his Diego’s last fight even with the loss against Volk he looked dam good. That’s why I threw little bit of change at Lopes last min when I saw the odds.

And another Sherdog hype train bites the dust. When will people here learn? If my years here are any indication, probably never.

Sorry Jean Silva isn't a point fighter. He has a wild style. I was wrong about the result. But still if Lopes can turn it around after his first fight, I think Silva can.

He went to the ground quicker than I expected because of being reckless though and seemed screwed. Standup was great.

You could see Jean Silva confidence fall after first round, he rebuilt it, then was too confident and paid for it.

If he can keep his style and improve cool. If he loses 10 fights in a row but looks like that, fine with that too.

There was no way he was going to knock out Lopes bro. He ate everything Jean had in his arsenal and it was only down hill for Jean from there on. People don´t realize the kind of chin Lopes has. Not even a baseballbat will take that guy out.
Everyone can get knocked out and Jean was clearly hurting him...but then Jean made the mistake of chasing instead of being patient...otherwise, it would only have gotten worse for Lopes on the feet.

Jean needs to find a happy medium.

While he can't (and shouldn't) deny who he is, he would do well to rely more on his skills and dial back the emotions and recklessness a bit. He was *decisively* winning the standup and could certainly have won that fight if he just fought a little bit smarter.
