What books are you reading?

I'm combining it with Bob Briers course the History of Ancient Egypt on audible at the same time.

Just started Midnight Tides, book 5 of the Malazan, book of the Fallen series. These books are good, but they are long as hell and I feel like I need palate cleanser when I finish one. Definitely can't read them back to back.

I don't look forward to starting them, but always enjoy them once I get into them. I feel like I'm invested in the series now and want to see it through.

The Thirty-nine steps by John Buchan.

Biggles flies East by W.E.Johns.

A Scott Marianni book ( still- it's a work book and I've not been there much apart from overtime)

Numerous Marvel/2000ad graphic novels.

yeah, I went into it knowing that “it gets better” about 2/3 the way through. The first part was a slog, but it did get a lot better. The following books I’ve read were better in that sense but still crazy long. I don’t think I’d recommend them to any one, but I’m so invested at this point and enjoying them enough to finish.

with that, my recommendation may change after I finish the series. The first 4 books followed different characters and I can see where they are weaving a bunch of plots together. The finale would have to be pretty great to recommend and push through that much book.

Currently on the 8th book in the Gray Man series. Listening to the audio books and the narrator is super talented, guy does voices for women, children, African, Arab, Asian accents.

It’s like listening to a movie.

Definitely fitting the stereotype of a karate subforum dweller at the moment. It's an interesting read.
