Social What are you up to today ?

Cleaning out and prepping beds in main garden and finishing the new walkways from last falls cleaning. 3 years of wood chip walkways, needed to pull all the weeds that were out of control and rake it out last fall. Getting landscape mesh down now before shit starts growing back. mesh isn't great but I had it left over from the new greenhouse floor, will see how well it holds up.

There's no good solution for the paths, they require maintenance no matter what, didn't feel like hauling in more cubic yards of wood chips this time. this is just the beginning of the busy season, doesn't slow down til June.

also let the kitties run around the yard, sex with wife and went out to dinner. Oh and it hit 70 today. First time since November. The hell of winter is finally breaking and outdoor life is starting again. It doesn't last long enough.

Was up the beach cabin last night doing some cleaning up, came back this morning, worked from home, played some guitar. Now down at my fave local cafe who serve tap beer, not a bad Thursday so far.

Shit I'm in Wisconsin and my neighbors have already been out on mowers to clean the yard. Never to early to get the toys out.

And no there's nothing growing yet. I got some tulips popping up tho.

The lawn mower is their toy?!? I have heard of people taking pleasure mowing their lawns, but I have never understood how this is possible. I suppose one could take pride in how their lawn looks, but I wouldn't enjoy doing the work......

Have they ever tried things like a boat, a snowmobile, a side by side, a hotrod, etc. ? Those are some fun toys.

Working 10 hours

Boats are money pits and around here only exist for fishing.

We're on the snowmobile trail next to the bar(s). I'm also on a giant atv/dirt bike trail.

So I mean, we've got all these toys too 😂 but dudes still out there putting mower attachments on to get those tractors out despite the fact it snowed last night.

So 8 mean..

I'm packing for a comic con I'm selling art at starting tomorrow. In Kansas City Missouri. Called Planet City comic con. If anyone is in KC and is going, check me out. I sell the Mount Rushmore pictures with other faces.
Weighing my stuff, packing it all up. Flight is 6am tomorrow, gotta leave around 245am.

Also trying to get this Nicaraguan girl to come by after she's off at 10 tonight . Thanks Google translate. If it works out probably will do the no sleep thing.

Worked. Had to go to an account in Long Island City. It's up and coming hipster but still a ghetto and it's like driving in GTA. I watched 2 separate guys crash on scooters. Another pulled a wheelie all the way down Northern Blvd scraping the back. They really are a menace.

Prepping to leave in about an hour to fly to Brisbane for a couple of track days.

Should be fun

Not doing much of anything today. Had some Korean ramen this morning then snacked on a piece of toast with apple jelly. It’s sort of chilly and boring today, mainly just watching television.

I am currently consolidating massive data tables. I lead a project to develop Canada's Open Data Standard for plastics reporting, and it involves creating these giant spreadsheet templates for stakeholders to report into.

It is mind numbing work, but the government pays the university a lot of money to do it.

I went to watch the first round of the NCAA Basketball tournament at Rupp Arena. Great experience.

Cleaned the mountain of Amazon boxes out of my garage.

About to drink this... and pay fucking $34 for a hamburger. Highway robbery :-(
I hope it's a good hamburger. I make an effort to ignore prices in airports. I know that I'm getting fucked and the bill will suck, I just feel better if I don't know how much each thing was a ripoff.

To be fair, it was a pretty good hamburger... at a British pub, still pretty damn expensive.

Oh well.
