This mission in GOW Ragnorak where you ride around on the yak with the girl, does it ever end???? This has to be be the longest and most boring mission I've ever played in a video game. It's been three hours and I had to tap out. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. I was really enjoying this game and this bs completely killed my desire to continue.

I hated that to. I do not remember it being 3 hours though. If I had to guess you're close to the end.

Went in completely blind. It's...alright. I must've laughed for a good ten minutes at the character creation abominations, though. In a good way. I don't know what they were thinking with making them the most stunning and brave clickers from TLOU, but it's fucking hilarious. I just went with it, and made the most ridiculous looking character imaginable. Gave him a drag name of "Trixie Sparkles". He's absolutely fabulous.

The game itself is pretty good. Didn't have much time to go over anything, but the fundamentals. The combat is good, and even the first person melee combat is probably the best I've ever played. It's not nearly as wonky as others, and is surprisingly manageable and intuitive with great feedback. First person platforming is really good too. The actual gameplay mechanics are solid and very smooth. You're not fighting against the physics. It all works very well. In comparison to another recent game like "Indiana Jones", it's superior in it's execution in that regard.

It's got the Bethesda exploration elements as well, where you just get lost seeing some structure in the distance and taking a detour to go see what's there. Albeit, it does seem a bit more condensed and streamlined. I just got that feeling, where the world isn't completely open, but the areas within them are.

The writing didn't get off to strongest of starts, where the set up to the world seems very lazy and basic, but the missions are filling the gap and have some decent writing.

Overall, it's definitely interesting and hasn't turned me off. It hooked me a lot faster than "Starfield", but we'll see if the wheels fall off faster. Could go either way, but I'm feeling a decent 7.5/10 experience so far.

The Division 2

Back at it after taking a 5 year off fugue state. It's really clicking with me right now. I guess I wasn't feeling looter shooters back in 2020. Only tapped out after about 5 hours back then. I must say I am quite enjoying it now, with the new updates and I don't remember the music being this good either. The AI is still brain-dead but the game is still tough even though some deaths are cheap like enemies spawning behind you and instakillkng you.

Am level 18 currently and have almost all settlements maxed and 7/8 gadgets unlocked. Just need to get the shield. I like the Drone for healing and the mine for explosions. The foam gun was fun too as well as effective for the yellow heavies.

Any recommendations for gadgets? @Strychnine or @PRIDEWASBETTER ?
Is the game dead? It's easy to find randoms to play with?

This actually looks...cool. Snobbishly stuck my nose up when saw because Avatar. Fine showing, sir.

Made another longer vid taking down a larger base.

I didn't use my ikran as much for this one, and I did get my ass kicked for a bit. They do encourage a stealthy approach to this kind of stuff but I figured, I'm leveled, armored, and geared up, why not pretend I'm Na'vi Doomguy?

If anyone was on the fence about this game GO GET IT

Ya'll didn't listen to me when I told you Prince of Persia Lost Crown is a great game and now that studio got shut down and there will likely never be a sequel.

Why didn't you listen to me???

It took like, thousands of people across multiple studios across the world to make this happen. Seriously, the credits sequence is sick on this...

All so we can get a living world like this

Yeah, I've seen that. In fairness, I think a lot of it is superficial stuff you won't really notice while playing. Like, the physics thing doesn't bother me. It's a nice touch, but doesn't add much to the experience. Same with the lockpicking thing. Many games have the same type of basic system, but never get slammed for it. The NPC thing is definitely noticeable, though. All in all, I think a lot of same issues in this game, were also present in "The Outer Worlds", and that was called a Fallout killer at release, because people had a bee in their bonnet over Bethesda at the time. I think this game is also getting a bit more attention paid to it, over the whole Obsidian controversy.

That all said, it's certainly no secret that games had a lot more love and attention paid to them in the past. Even within the same companies that used to give a shit, you can see them cutting corners all over the place in modern games.

There’s way too many good games right now. Sitting here playing civ 7 happy as a clam, but getting huge fomo over kingdom come deliverance 2

ya it kinda has that, where certain enemies require armor piercing rounds. its no big deal though.
I'm liking the game so far. The one with the cult leader was highly rated but that was the Farcry I couldn't play. Farcry 3 was an amazing game, one of the best open world games I ever played. The one with the guy with the Mohawk on the cover.

Farcry 6 is pretty good so far. I'm not far in the game but it was worth the $10. I just wished the female characters were better looking. They gave me the armor piercing rounds early in this game.

Someone said Ubisoft is going out of business so I might could get all the Assassin's Creed games cheap too

As a PS5 Pro owner it’s on the list. We’re just so close to monster hunter wilds and First Berserker Khazan which are my two most anticipated titles that I can’t make time for it. I agree with people needing to support their good games though. Last two Ubisoft games I purchased were Prince of Persia The Lost Crown and Immortals Fenyx Rising. Both had their sequels cancelled and both were fantastic games that undersold. Have you played Immortals? Some of the team that had their project cancelled went on to make Eternal Strands which released last month. Need to check that out too at some point.

Reinstalled Returnal due to the Saros reveal last week, otherwise my boredom with gaming continues, there's nothing out there at the minute making me want to make an effort to play something
Play Nex Machina. It’s Returnal before they got Sony budget. It’s an amazing game. Why are you bored though and what genre do you enjoy? I can recommend some stuff.

What didn’t you like about the cult leader one? I started with that and I couldn’t go back to 3.

Yep, played and loved Immortals Fenyx Rising. A few of us here got it and had high praise for it.

Probably because I sucked at the game. Maybe I missed the part of the tutorial on bullet types and how to make them or maybe I put the difficulty too high.

It seem like GTA with 3 Stars permanently turned on. Badguys in Jeeps coming at me nonstop and the armored guys with nothing to kill them.

I got the AP rounds in Farcry 6 early and I already killed one guy. I got a sniper rifle with the AP rounds loaded up.

The cult one I was thinking probably had the best plot but I only got a few hours into the game.

I thought 5 played way better than 3 in terms of game play. I tried playing 4 too. 4 felt clunky. Playing 5 kinda ruined the series for me. You can tell 3 and 4 had good villains and story. Game play wasn’t the same.

I was going to try 6 but the reviews were really bad. I am probably going to grab it when it is on sale. Did you buy the DLCs?

I didn't get any DLC but the game came with some DLC. It's a weapon and disabled dog with wheels it looks like. You get a pet in this game. Right now I got an alligator. You can leave the pet behind if you don't want to use them. I haven't downloaded the free DLC yet.

I probably won't buy any DLC for this game. I like the game so far though. Feels and looks like a sequel to Farcry 3. They said this game was massive too. I just found a new pistol.

Little bit deeper. Pretty cool stuff. Although, I think the loot system is about as shitty as "The Outer Worlds" was. It's more about crafting than finding unique loot, which is a bit lazy IMO. I haven't spent much time in the game, but every single time I've opened a chest with armor or weapons, it's all the same basic bitch shit. It's more about collecting crafting items to upgrade everything, than stumbling upon some unique gear. At least for now. The game does hint at there being unique loot, but nothing so far. It works okay, but it really kills the anticipation of opening up a chest after beating a boss or finding some secret area.

The world is really opening up, though. I had a main mission marker to follow, but this path caught my eye, and I was all of sudden helping some dude try to resurrect a God in some gigantic temple that I just happened to stumble upon. It was a good three or four tier meaty side quest that was just...there. Really cool "Bethesda" like stuff going on. I also kind of like how they deal out XP during battles. You only get the XP after the entire mob has been killed. Not one by one. So it works as a reward for beating areas, and not just individual enemies. They stack the experience and give it to you in a bundle. I like it as a safety notification.

So far, so good. Nothing mind blowing, but it's a very solid open world RPG as far as I can tell. If you're starving for a "Skyrim"-like adventure, you could do a lot worse.

I just finished Chapter 1 of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii this morning.

It's very early days and little has been unlocked for me. Majima starts off on a small map and whilst there are a few things to do, it's still in introductory phase.

I found the idea of pirates being in Infinite Wealth to be really out of left field and the same can be said for this game, but it's still very charming.

The game looks very good, the environments are pretty, the characters introduced are all enjoyable. There are a few new things in combat that took a little getting used to, but it plays well.

No grade yet. I can't wait to get back into it this afternoon.

There's nothing out there at the minute making me want to play, all these reveals lately apart from Saros feel like nothing to me for some reason. I was bored as hell during the last couple of State of Plays

Playing Dead Island 2. Game has sold north of 4M units as of last month. Good sales.

About 13h in and feel like I'm closing in on campaign close.

Honestly, did not like this game at first because of the combat but...I pressed on to feel it out. Once melee options and crafting get going, the power fantasy kicks in and the game finds its momentum.

I really liked the card/modifier system of Back 4 Blood and while this game employs much the same, it's not fun, IMO.

There's also a subset of cards for autophage mods that they've uniquely fleshed out with tiers (so I can tell it's important) but I just don't dig it. Hope I'm not screwing myself later by making my way without.

There are two story expansions, iirc; one, Haus, and the latter SOLA. I may pick one up but I don't know right now. I'm curious what happens to protag so I'm looking forward to progressing. This game has artificial level-gating to keep your gear and exploration controlled, so if they've the same in the DLCs, I probably won't pick up.
