Wanted to get through what I'm lacking before the Pirate Yakuza game is released, will never happen. I'm just gonna skip ahead and play it, especially since 0 has Majima as a playable character and I'm already acquainted with using him. Pirate Yakuza is probably gonna be the GOAT (at least in my world)
I started with Like a Dragon and then after instead of jumping right to Infinite Wealth I started right at 0 even though I'm a massive Kasuga stan. I like Kiryu but Goro and Ichi are my dudes. Still 0 is GOAT'ed. Kiwami 1 and 2 were great and I started Yak 3 but man it really nosedives at 3. I will eventually finish 3,4,5,6 (as I do own them) but it's gonna be a chore to get through 3 @Wrath of Foamy did warn me though.

3 was very hard to get through, 4 is a little better, 5 was also hard to get through. 4 and 5 split the action up over several characters, and as soon as you get used to using one, you have to start using another with completely different skill sets, and it is kinda brutal. 0 seems to be where the series started heading in the right direction, kinda a precursor to the Kiwami games.

Judgement is a sister series to the Yakuza games, and it is amazing. I have the sequel but haven't played it yet, but I find it hard not to put the Yakuza games on hold to do that. Judgement is one of the best in the overall series, I recommend it.

I'm surprised that you think that 0 is the best. I think that as well, but I was under the impression that you preferred the gameplay of LaD.

3 and 4 are a bit rough but for the story, they should be done. 5 is a bit better but still quite rough, but it really opens up again with scope, mini-games and story.

If you like Yakuza/LaD, Judgment and Lost Judgment are must plays, for opposite reasons. The story is great on Judgment and a bit odd in Lost Judgment, but the side content in Lost Judgment is excellent.

Picked up a few games so let me know if any fellow Sherdoggers have played!

Blazblue: Entropy Effect
TMNT: Splintered Fate
Remnant 1 (including DLCs)
Nioh 2 Complete Edition
Nuclear Nightmare
Content Warning
Gang Beasts
The Red Solstice
Castlevania Dominus Collection
Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2
Remnant 1 and Nioh 2? Dawg, Merry F Christmas. Absolute gems. *chef’s kiss

I preferred the story in LaD. Yakuza 0 out of the 4 I have played with Kiryu as main protag. is my fave tho.

Finally beat Stalker 2. This would have been a top game for me, except for all of the fucking walking you have to do. Not being able to sneak and play stealth sucked too.

I'm well into Indiana Jones and great circle. Pretty fun game with a great design.

Downloaded Metro Exodus so I'll be playing that after IJ

Indiana Jones and The Great Circle

First off, GREAT story. That, above all else, is the reason it's worth playing. If you want to wash the horrible taste out of your mouth from the last two flicks, this will make you see that it's not impossible to write a good and simple Indy story that checks all the boxes. No complaints with the story. It's excellent.

Gameplay wise...it's good, but overstays it's welcome. It's a Thief/Dishonored clone(which is not what I was expecting), and it does a decent job at giving you that stealth/action feel, but it's missing some things that make it worthwhile for the entire play time. I guess it comes down to "risk/reward" and there ain't much reward here for meticulously creeping through damn near every environment. By the time I hit the third or fourth chapter I was over it, and wishing it had a more action oriented blueprint, ala "Uncharted". It just gets so damn boring crawling around each base, and the actual combat(while fun at first) gets a bit annoying, and it doesn't really reward you all that much, outside of just getting to the next cutscene. I would've preferred a more traditional RPG system to go with all this sneaking. The upgrade system is unique, but also kind of dumb. You just stumble upon books with powers that you can unlock with...umm..."Indy Points" I guess, and it just doesn't work all that well. Give me a more traditional skill tree please. The puzzles are also very hit and miss, with some absolutely requiring a walkthrough guide.

All in all though, it's very good and one of the better licensed games out there. It's got it's flaws, but overall I think it was rather experimental in it's approach, and nitpicks aside, they mostly nailed it. This game will be alongside "Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay", in "underrated" lists for years to come.

Elden Ring

I don't know about this one. I think I fucked up and chose an advanced class. Went "Warrior", thinking it would just be the most basic of classes, but no. It threw two sabers in my hands, and asked me to be some Youtube expert ninja at the game. I have managed to get past that first real boss(Margit?), but it took some time, with all of his fucking bullshit never ending, 360 degree combos that can end you in two or three hits. That was...a hell of a welcoming. That's ultimately my problem with the game. It makes "Dark Souls 3" look like "Kirby's Big Adventure". It's fucking ridiculous at how many enemies just swarm and overwhelm you with kill combo spams. A simple fucking Knight will have combos for days, and it's a bit much. Whereas the previous "Souls" games might surprise you here and there with a random asshole who wasn't fucking around. In this game, they're around every fucking corner. It seems like there are mini-bosses everywhere.

Anyways, I think I'm giving up on this build, and will be going sword and board whenever I restart it. I don't have the skills to go naked with this game, and just roll through everything. Unfortunately, I feel like I've made it pretty far for starting out and don't want to do any of it again, so I'll have to take a nice break and then come back.

Been playing Enshrouded, fucking addicting open world survival/craft. Originally picked it up as a fun game to play with my daughter. We've played about 2 hours together over a few sessions before she gets bored, while I've just 60 hours in my world.

I got COD MW III on my Rog Ally.

Jesus chroist on a cross this campaign is really bad so far and I dont complain about them nearly as much as others do. That second stage where you have to plant the mine ? What the FUCK was that???!

Road 96

Back on Gamepass. It's been long enough since I played it, that I have forgotten everything about it, and all I can say is...goddamn what a gem. This might just be favorite out of all of these modern story driven "adventure" games(Telltale and the like). It's such a brilliant set up, having you play multiple characters in a rogue-lite system, where the story resets with each new character, and can vary wildly from one story to the next each time you fail to hit the end goal. It's so robust, and each playthrough is completely different and gives you so many options and different scenarios to ultimately hit the sweet spot and make it to the end.

Heard they made a sequel of sorts. I might just buy the whole package one day on the cheap. They've earned it.

I'm at the end of chapter 5 in Ys 8 and man am I really enjoying this game. I started on nightmare just in case I wanted to get the plat and I'm glad I did cause I'm doing just that or going to try at least.

Nightmare has also been great because it just makes all the other side activities worth doing. It's so rare these days that games make the side activities worth it. In this game you get stat boost, good items/gear, etc. The bosses have been hard enough to where I need all the help I can get.

I think my only complaint is that it does the shit I hate in RPGs where it's possible for your characters to miss XP. So if someone dies during a boss they don't get any of that XP. Thankfully the game realizes AI CPU are horrible and makes it so that they only lose life down to 1 HP but never die unless you take control of them. So far none of the bosses have been insanely hard but most of them have taken multiple tries for me to get down the pattern and then I can beat them. Usually about 5-10 tries depending on the boss and how much life they have. I'm also having trouble staying at the same level as the bosses/hunts/raids I even did some grinding which helped but I'm still getting behind to quickly. That's with me doing all the side activities I can before moving on. Not sure if that's part of nightmare mode or what.

Been on a completionist mood with the games ive been playing lately (100% achievements)

Star Wars: Dark Forces
Forgive Me Father
Half Life 2
Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars Reforged
Half-Life 1 mod called Delta Particles

Currently finishing up SOMA.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate

Well, it is damn good if you are a fan of roguelikes but especially the Hades style of them. Same camera, same types of upgrades/boon synergies.

For some reason though, WHATEVER reason, they decided to make this game UNGODLY grindy and difficult.

I only have 5 achievements left on steam as of this post but reading up on them makes me not want to even attempt it.

Been jumping around Kingdom Hearts games.

2 was one of my favorite games back when I first played it, and I still love it, held up really well for me.

Also played 3 for the first time since it came out. It is not a bad game by any stretch, but it felt like such a downgrade to KH2. Outside of a couple of worlds, they all felt pretty lazy and pointless. Especially Frozen. Holy hell what a waste of time. It really just felt like the Disney stuff was there because it had to be. Also, attractions suck.
