Remedy?? Aww fuck, my Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes o_O

Looks like Control 2 is the main issue. Max Pay 1 & 2 seem to be safe.

Remedy and Annapurna announced in late August that the companies would be co-financing Control 2 and developing TV and movie adaptations for Remedy's Alan Wake and Control series

What studios were working with them, any idea? Just curious as to what games could end up delayed or outright canceled over this.
Mostly indie titles but did help with Outer Worlds, Stray, Neon White, I know they are involved with the Blade Runner game that's coming at some point plus a Silent Hill title
I know that made a major deal with Remedy recently (like a week or two ago) so that's really the only thing that I'm worried about.

That's the parent company Annapurna Pictures not the games division, that's fine no worries for you there for Control 2

Nintendo and the Pokemon Company are suing Pocket Pair the Palword developer for patent infringement

Filing of Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against Pocket Pair Inc.

Nintendo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minami-ku, Kyoto, President & CEO: Shuntaro Furukawa, hereinafter referred to as "the Company"), in collaboration with The Pokémon Company, filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Pocket Pair Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: 2-10-2 Higashi-Gotanda, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as the "Defendant") in the Tokyo District Court on September 18, 2024.
This lawsuit seeks an injunction against infringement and damages for allegedly infringing multiple patents by the game "Palworld" developed and distributed by the defendant.
In order to protect our important intellectual property, which we have built up through many years of efforts, we will continue to take necessary measures against infringement of intellectual property, including our brand.

I'm curious what patents Nintendo thinks were infringed on, since they they picked that over trademarks.

Yea I noticed that. From what I could find online no one seems to even have a clue what it could be.

Yeah, there are plenty of gameplay patents, but its hard to see how no one else before palword wouldn't have violated it already.

I was reading about this before weekend because I have a minor position in INTC in my investment portfolio and it's obviously been (even more) a roller-coaster of late as a shareholder. Pretty neat stuff coming out of left field and Gelsinger feeling Mordor-grade heat.

Qualcomm can't afford Intel and there's no reason for Intel to sell off CCG. Not to mention nearly every regulatory body would block the merger. Plus x86 licensing is a nightmare and there's a good chance AMD has the right to veto a transfer of the license.
