Kind of in a rut

Killed Mogh with my NG++ Elden Ring character so I can start the DLC when it drops

Diablo 4:
Got to Lilith and don't give enough of a shit to level up to beat her.

Hellblade 2:
This is probably the game that's going to make me buy a PS5. Like a battered woman finally
leaving her husband. This was the final straw with Xbox exclusives

Armored Core 6:
Stuck at the walker escort mission.

The only game I'm really enjoying is Tekken 8 but this gets me too excited before bed.

Just downloaded Control, Dead Cells and Forza Horizon 4 to try something different

I'm gonna have to repurchase a few games on PS5 which kills me but god damn it Xbox just ain't it anymore.

First impressions?
Just getting used to it at the moment. So far it's ok. I like the open world and think the game looks fairly nice. Combat is either kinda fun or just irritating.

I'll persevere with it for now.

I appreciate you mentioning not being able to play certain games before bed. Am the same way. If something either gets my adrenaline going or has me dialled in, my mind will be revving. Games with checkpoint save architecture can be trouble too if you know you’ve a specific time you want to start brushing your teeth, washing your face, whatnot and heading in but can’t manually save. Hate that.

Grabbed Helldivers2 last week, I really like it, having fun about to hit Lvl 15. If you want a challenge that game can give it to you, higher difficulty settings are no joke!

Took a bit to get used to calling in Stratagems and would say the tutorial left out a lot of very useful info I had to figure out later. Wish the map was always up and didn't require pressing a key to pull it up and another to take it down.

Other than that it's great.

Yeah I've been playing it too, it's an awesome game but definitely gets tough as shit sometimes

I breezed through Elderborn, which is a hand to hand FPS obviously influenced by the classic Dark Messiah of Might and Magic (Kicking dudes off cliffs and into spikes etc is the funnest part of the game). It took me less than 4 hours to complete it but it was fun, and there's a wide variety of weapons. I mostly liked the spears where I circle strafe and dodge around enemies while jabbing them. I'm gonna replace this with Ziggurat 2 which is a magic-based fps I guess

I started Oxygen Not Included, which is kind of like Terraria mixed with Dwarf Fortress or something. You control a team underground on some alien planet and have to mine for space and resources while base building. It's pretty fun so far

I'm also gonna start Deep Rock Galactic as well. I bought it recently and it was expensive as shit with all the DLC etc but I've heard it's pretty great, and Helldivers has gotten me back into co-op MP lately

Dead Cells is one of my favorite roguelites ever. I have 100% achievements in it I got so addicted.

If you can get used to the mechanics it is a very rewarding game.

Starfield

The grudge is officially over. This is some fun stuff, and I've finally gotten into that Bethesda groove. I guess if I were to put my complaints in a few words, it would be "Terrible first impression". That still stands, although some of the updates like adding simple map markers to fast travel between, has made it a LOT better. The game opens up as a confusing mess, and until you're familiar(or force yourself to be) with the world, it will continue to hurt the game going forward.

That said, once I got into it, it all started to really click. The faction quests are where it's at. I've betrayed the daughter of a war criminal, and am currently doing his bidding. I pulled off some corporate espionage, and got some bitch removed as CEO of a big company, and I'm currently infiltrating the Crimson Fleet under deep cover of the UC. Now this is the shit I was looking for. The combat and loot hunting is coming around too, I've barely even touched the crafting either, so that's something to look forward to as well. I was thinking this game might be too big for it's own good, but once you settle in, that's not a negative. This game has some serious legs.

Think I'll upgrade my "Bored out of my mind/10", to a solid 8/10.

I've put the main quest on hold, completed the Freestar Rangers quest line and I'm doing the Vanguard quests. I'll be doing Ryujin after this (which I did during my 20 hour play through half a year ago), then start with the main quest and play the game more freely.

I stuck six vanguard particle beams on a Star Eagle and I've been wrecking shop, which is a lot of albeit brief fun.

Ground combat can be awkward as enemies can be quite hard to spot. I'm thinking of going for the regen park. Coupled with stealth, it should make combat a lot more forgiving. In terms of perks? I picked max rank laser for the burn perk, but find myself going to my ballistic snipers and beowolf a lot more. I don't want to throw any points into another combat park though.

It's a 7 for me so far. It's quite rough around the edges. The lore is pretty cool (it'd make a good series) and there is fun to be had, but time and effort is required to find it.

I found the combat annoying at first, because of the color pallet. Once you get a good suit, with a stockpile of healing items and good weapons, the combat becomes practically an afterthought, as you can just tank everything without a care. Good and bad in that regard, as I don't want to be too challenged with combat in an open world RPG, where a roadblock can instantly turn you off. However, it does start to feel like you're just going through the motions after a bit.

The Ryujin industries missions are good, but there is a heavy stealth element to them, so be warned. The stealth is bit...wonky. Not terrible, but there are some situations that will test your patience with it. You'll probably do okay right up until the last mission, where stealth is almost impossible. It's all very forgiving, though, so it's a not big deal if you don't follow the rules all that much. The fun in that faction quest is all the corporate backstabbing you can manipulate. It also gives you a fun toy to mess around with near the end that you get to keep.

Also, if you have a side mission titled "MANTIS" sitting in your quest log, do it.

Yeah, the palate is basically it. The suits they wear and the general environments tend to be quite dark, plus, even with level 4 stealth, it doesn't take long for a guard to be alerted.

I'd like to unlock weapon, spacesuit and ship crafting. I'd also like to invest in the physical skill tree to extend my stealth further with concealment and get regeneration. Decisions decisions...

I have Mantis sitting in my quest logs. Once I've cleared the.Vanguars quest, I may jump into it...

Fallout New Vegas min maxing a crit build.

Just finished No More Heroes 2. Thoroughly fun ride, as was the first. Niche games but 10/10 for me. Looking forward to play the NMH 3, but not right away.

Continuing my Dark Souls 3 playthrough. I've been at it for a few months, playing sporadically along with other games. Currently at Lothric Castle, at the bonfire with the 2 dragons. Exploring the way around it through going down from the bridge to the area below. Im still exploring that zone.

Played a bit of Wo Long, and after playing it for 5~10 mins I was impressed. Deflection mechanism is lovely, and it seems more like a sekiro x nioh crossover fight system. To appreciate it you have to be into both sekiro and nioh, and both are acquired tastes. So it taps into a much narrower audience. Anyway, I was fucking impressed, but I'm not in the mood for action rpg after NMH2.

About to start :

Observer . God tier "walking simulator". Not usually a fan of walking sims, but this is a masterpiece of a game no matter the genre. It's like you're in the middle of this dystopian Matrix / Dark City like sci fi setting, where you are an investigator who jack's into people's minds to extract info.

Starts as a dystopian thriller, and evolves into full on david lynch like mindfuckery. Played half of it 6 years ago, and had a bug that wiped my entire save, 8 hours in. Ragequitted it and waited for bug fix to revisit. Apparently the did a full redux of the game.

Next on my list

Wo Long

Haven't really been interested in the last couple of months but have started Hades as a pick up and play game for the time being, done about 15 runs so far and got as far as the 3rd boss but enjoying it quite a bit, looking forward to finishing it then starting the Noclip doc on the making of it

I recently downloaded both Arkham asylum and Arkham city. I played them briefly for a couple hours each around when they came out. Right now I’m pretty far into asylum, it’s ton of fun. Biggest knock would be that you damn near have to play majority of game in “detective mode” to safely navigate the environment, spot bad guys, track dna trails and not miss stuff which means you get detached from the graphics and taking in the scenery and environment

Bout halfway through Close to the Sun. Super easy puzzle game that is basically Bioshock minus the combat.

Downloaded Sea of Thieves a couple days ago. Played through the tutorial mission. Not sure how much time I'll be dedicating to this game.

Finished the second Dead Island 2 DLC a couple weeks ago. Same shit as the last DLC basically. Nothing thrilling.

After you finish you should consider getting Hades 2 early access!

If I had a gaming PC I would plus as and when I'm more in the mood for games I have a backlog I seriously need to get through before getting to the sequel unfortunately but I will get it at some point

Tears of The Kingdom is incredible. There's stuff everywhere and it's balanced perfectly such that exploring and exhausting all your options pays off in enormous ways. I had no idea there were so many treasure maps. I've gotten 19 so far. No clue what the max is, or if there is a max. I'm gonna guess there is because while some of these things are just homages to older games, a few of them are incredible upgrades.

I can't explain how many times I wondered to myself whether I could use an ability in a particular way to do something, and the payoff was immensely satisfying.

The temples are beautiful. The world is brimming with life and things to do and see.

Finished Fallout 3 and started Doom 3 but not sure I'll be able to finish it before the Elden Ring DLC drops.

I've never been able to get into Doom 3 because it's so slow but figured it was a good time to try again since FO3 is even worse. And I'm definitely enjoying it more so hopefully I can sneak it in. It's so claustrophobic and different than all the other Doom games.

Once you get to Delta Labs, the game really gets good though. It is under appreciated imo
