So, Finn McKenty, the "Punk Rock MBA," came out as a complete fraud, stating that he never had an interest in music to begin with, and only ran his platforms for the money. This, after seven years of running successful channels with elaborate videos and well thought out discussions and opinions on rock, punk, metal, and various subgenres. He apparently got those thoughts and opinions from Google.

As a man who claims to train BJJ and who seemingly follows the sport of MMA (hard to say if that is true, considering he is a self admitted liar), it is possible that he has an account here, though he'd probably never see this post bc he has no interest in music. Just wanted to bring awareness to my music buds that that guy is a total douche bag, never knew about anything about the topics and bands he posted videos about, and is a prime example of everything wrong with society in the present. I didn't think it was thread worthy, so just leaving it here.

Yeah, I saw Fantano talking about this. It’s almost admirable in its audacity, whilst at the same time being as repugnant as you say.

I am all for making a living, and get what you mean. Dude always talked about marketing being his thing, and he is no doubt very good at it. I think where he went very, very wrong is ridiculing various fanbases, time and again, and giving first hand accounts of being part of specific scenes. Hard to say if any of it was legitimate or not. Now he's back to posting things like, "In 2025, let's make the internet nice again," alluding to fatigue from criticism, something you have no room to complain about when you've been extremely critical yourself for a number of years and evidently didn't even know what you were talking about. Fontano had a pretty neutral take, but was correct in stating that, in the interview where Finn revealed everything, he came across as a jerk.
