International Russia/Ukraine Megathread V15

Bell Textron has signed several letters of intent with Ukraine in Washington, DC to explore potential helicopter supply and industrial collaboration.

Under the proposed framework, Bell and the American government would coordinate through a foreign military sales program to supply the company’s flagship AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom helicopters to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, enhancing the military’s air capabilities amid its ongoing defense modernization.

“We are proud to announce this agreement, and the potential to supply these incredible aircraft to Ukraine,” said Jeffrey Schloesser, senior vice president for strategic pursuits at Bell.

“This initiative has been in development for some time, and we look forward to bringing it to completion.”

The AH-1Z and UH-1Y are designed to operate jointly and share about 85 percent of their components, simplifying maintenance and logistics.

Both aircraft, promoted under Bell’s H-1 standard airframe line, are currently employed by the US Marine Corps and allied militaries.

“We are confident that H-1s can play a pivotal role in further building defense capabilities in Ukraine, providing a much-needed upgrade while strengthening current Ukrainian air support,” Schloesser said.

about time!

ive been saying this for awhile. The vipers AH-1Z would be amazing over there specifically with the modernized systems available to it. JGAM or AGM-114 Hellfire II would give ukraine a good long range attack helo capabilties and those AGR-20 (APKWS II) would give it a good anti drone capabilitie

Putin’s marooned troops tried to flee by boat – and were blown apart

In a desperate bid for freedom, a group of Russian soldiers cram into a tiny boat and push off from a marshy islet in the Dnipro delta.

Cloaked in makeshift camouflage made of reeds and mud, they lie low in the water, hoping the narrow channels will conceal their escape back towards Russian-occupied territory.

But high above, Ukrainian troops are watching their every move.

Soon, the buzz of a suicide drone cuts through the mist. It swoops on the boat. And then it explodes.

Ukrainian intelligence suggests that 5,100 Russians have died in the delta since January of this year, with reports of soldiers starving to death because of the lack of supplies.

“The prisoners that our fighters recently took on the islands talked about the inability to deliver food and drinking water to them, and they have to drink water from the river,” said Colonel Zavtonov."

That's the whole point of the article, you don't even read things (like when you posted citations which didn't end up affirming your claims).

Is there a reason you didn't answer my question for like the third time?

What is the big news we should be discussing?

I also agreed with that article so I am not sure what your little jab at me was supposed to be...yea they gained 0.4% territory in summer offensive, failed to capture any town or meaningful areas and lost a shit ton of soldiers and equipment....

Is Economist a trustworthy source? I thought all Western sources were misleading? Could you give us a list of sources you trust?

I am going to guess you trust the Economist? Unless it's written by someone with a Ukrainian sounding name? Seriously what are the criteria?

My opinion:

We don't know what the actual casualty ratio is.

You have 3 contingencies; (1) casualty ratio is in Ukraine's favor, (2) casualty ratio is in Russia's favor, (3) casualty ratio is even.

Even with wars that happened decades or centuries ago, we we don't know actual casualty ratios.

That's part of the reason that nobody knows what's going to happen. We're just making inferences.

Geniuses on here that don't have enough time to read one page articles (but spam cheerleader videos) have it all figured out too.

They'll try to shit on you endlessly too for not being an overopinionated douchebag.

That's right nothing can be known Mr Philosopher...

So are you going to tell us the big news we missed? Common bro...let's have it ..

Maybe one day we can all be as level headed and smart as you...

Also while my posts towards you are filled with suspicion and aggression I didn't outright insult you. But you're the victim.

This aged about as well as expected
Lmao

I may have to stop calling him Stolen Valerino and start calling him San Retardino going forward.

He predicted Russia would control all five oblasts in six months a couple months ago. That's aging equally as well...

Okay, I'll start calling you Mr. Peckerhead going forward.

Russia is already controlling the 5 oblasts you idiot. What do you think the 20% that Russia controls in Ukraine comes from?
Donetsk, Luhansk (the Dombas), Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Crimea. There is still close to 23% to be taken in Zaporizhzhia and Donesk.
I knew you were stupid, but you have surpassed all my expectations.

We don't know what the actual casualty ratio is.
. Ukraine has lost roughly 400,000 soldiers.
. Russia has lost roughly 750,000 soldiers.

* Russia has an unending supply of men that Ukraine does not have. Again, Russian is putting 10 new Divisions on the ground by the end of the year. Ukraine is putting zero (0). Ukraine is losing men to both casualties and desertions. Kiev is getting ready to face hundreds of civilian casualties in November, December, and January through Russian missile and drone strikes. 2,500 in one single night.
