Dana has turned HW into a shit show. He already managed to lose Big Frank and with how he's been treating Tom over the past year, I could see Tom maybe leaving too at some point if Dana keeps it up. Thoughts?

Bellator is kind of in limbo, ONE seems to not care about MMA anymore, and PFL is very disorganized. there are not too many options for big MMA leagues anymore.
if Tom doesnt wanna box, he's stuck in the UFC.

Dana White has gone completely insane in his glazing of Jones to try healing the hole left behind by Francis. He sold off his HW division in the attempt and now Jones is going to cuck the guy lol

Tom deserves better and I hope he finds it whatever he does.

There’s a type of life experience that comes with Ngannou which makes him the rebel. Tom Aspinall ain’t that. He’s a good middle class kid from the suburbs perfect for order.

Big Frank managed to lose his two boxing games, getting knocked out very badly in the latter, then proceeded to beat a no name in MMA.

So far Dana is probably feeling pretty good in regards to that
He also made 8 figures in both boxing matches and close to that fighting a B league Heavyweight, seems like Francis is doing alright instead on fighting 6 fights for $8 mil.

Tom has been treated like shit by the UFC and Dana specifically, no real props or acknowledgement that he's a deserved champion. Having him serve as a ceremonial backup fighter to the Jones-Miocic fight is actually kind of sad.

The UFC has no real competition in MMA though, and Tom hasn't built up his name enough yet to get money fights in boxing.

He would have felt good if Francis got humiliated in the first boxing fight. Francis did good enough he turned it into two mega pay days instead of the expected just 1.

Francis won his exit. Not going to work for most fighters but Francis "beat the system" even with two loses.

Tom's in such a weird spot right now. When Jon ducks him into retirement and everyone finds out Stipe had a DNR order, the only fight Tom really has left in the top 10 is Gane and I think Aspinall grapplefucks him easily. He'll become the undisputed champ and have cleaned out the division with one defense.

If Tom is legit, which it appears so so far, he could end up ruling 265lbs for quite a while as he's still pretty young as far as HW's go. The UFC will have to find more good big men, everyone knows there aren't that many to start with, and the biggest fish in the pond is the one Dana let go.

There is no bigger payday for Tom than in the UFC, and if he's bound by the champion's clause Tom's locked in anyways. He'll have to start cleaning the HW top 10 a second go around, lmao.

Tom *should* be promoted to undisputed champ once jones vacates after saturday.

BUT if stipe wins... i could see a situation where they book stipe vs jones 2. That might be the final straw for Tom... and PFL could have a MASSIVE fight if they have Tom and Ngannou.

How many fights Tom have left on his contract?

Tom vs Ngannou in 2026 outside the UFC would be pretty awesome. Let the Saudis throw their money at it to have the real MMA heavyweight championship fight there. NG would be 40 but he started late and his style will carry into later years better than Stipe's speed and timing skillset.

Actively fucking him by paying him for two championship fights and giving him the perfect way to market himself?
Yeah Dana is such a kind soul, giving Tom an interim title shot out of circumstance, not cause he really wanted to. Not to mention how Dana made Tom defend his interim belt when he shouldn't have to just so he would have a co-main event for his UK card.

Except the UFC SHOULD be marketing him. He shouldn't have to be marketing himself at this point. He has the interim belt, he should be fighting Jon to unify. That's the fight to make, the UFC and Dana should be promoting it, yet they are not cause Dana would rather dunk on Tom and Glaze Jon. What kind of promoter openly shits on his next in line HW champ? "defend the interim or sit on the shelf" "He has not done enough to earn a fight against Jon Jones" mean while he's holding the fucking interim.

Not high.

Aspinall's goal has always been the belt.

Between having Jon on his resume or the belt, he'll take the belt ebery single time.

Jon is just a "would be nice to have" thing on the resume.

As long as Dana does his job and strips Jones when he ducks Tom will be a happy camper.

Not really.....he's missed out on gazillions with Francis leaving.

Frank vs Tom
Frank vs Jones
Frank vs Stipe 3
Frank vs Pavlovich

There were loads of good fights involving Frank that they could have marketed.
