What about Conor McGregor fighting Max Holloway at 155?

The gas/pace will make the difference, since McGregor is suck at it.

His face will be like your avatar there - wrinkly, messed up:

Holloway's pea head will not be a problem for Conor to target without getting tired.

The problem comes from hard wrestlers like Khabib or taller and heavier guys like Nate Diaz.

Holloway is only slightly bigger than McG with a shorter reach and far inferior striking. Far inferior.

Man, the Nate case doesn't have nothing to do, the problem there was only the reach, because Nate has weird boxe and "outboxed" McGregor many times. Although Holloway's reach is lesser than Nate's, he is better in boxing light-years and the gas match from both.

It will be a long night for McGregor this time, be sure about that. Holloway is a freak, whereas McGregor didn't evolve at all - well, at least on standup game, because his wrestling has improved a little, to be honest.

Complete nonsense dude.

Against Holloway he used various jumping knees, side kicks, high kicks, hooks on the outside angle, inside angle....dominated him on the ground as well.

Since the second Diaz fight, McGregor's mostly cut out the superfluous movements and focused on his trusty boxing, if you pay attention. And boy has he gotten great.

But Holloway is a brawler. Conor won't have to worry about takedowns or defending on the ground because Holloway is not much of a threat there relative to the various opponents he's faced at LW.

Rewatch Holloway's fights with Aldo or even against Ricardo Lamas. Holloway still throws that sloppy right hook that catches short opponents sometimes and isn't very fast. He makes up for it with volume, but the problem is when he steps in that cage it will be McGregor who controls the rhythm and has the power to hurt him. It's McGregor who will get to the center first and establish the flow of the fight. And once Holloway backs off It would look very similar to the first fight, minus the excessive takedowns from McG.

Against McGregor, Holloway won't be pointing at the center of the ring and calling for a brawl, :D

With them pulling Nate from the MSG card the only fight that makes sense is the trilogy fight between Nate and Conor.

You forgot that this time will be 5 rounds. Max will patiently awaits and do like he did to Aldo. Keeping the pace and growing between rounds. Although McGregor will use kicks this time - because Max is a standup guy too -, the x-factor here is definitely gas, and McGregor suck at it, he is known for it. Max will do the correct strategy, I don't see McGregor winning. His left hand will shoot sometimes, but he will succumb to Max pace, then will get knocked out. Max definitely is not Nate, and we all saw what the simple Nate did to him, pushing aside the reach thing.

Read all the way through there is more to it than just the title.
Max has already stated he wants to move up, whether Ortega beats him or not the cut is getting very hard for him, his words.

Maybe it would be wise to see the outcome of that Max/Ortega fight before they make any definitive plans for Conor since Max may move up regardless win or lose and its known Max wants that loss back from McGregor.

WHY MAX?

LETS FACE THE FACTS HERE. Conor needs a win. Conor McGregor vs Max Holloway 2 would be a very different fight today IMO. UFC knows Conor is coming off of 2 losses. Yes 1 in boxing against Floyd but still its two consecutive contests he was stopped in...Conors stock has NOT dropped YET in my opinion but a 3rd loss will be bad I feel. You can only trash talk so much until EVERYONE starts to see you're bark is becoming bigger than your bite.

McGregor needs a WIN and I think Conor vs Diaz 3 right now is risky,
Conor vs Anderson Silva is bouncing around now....I think that fight just seems unrealistic to me.
Conor moving up to fight Woodley, no, not off of a loss.
Lastly, Conor in a rematch with Khabib AND vs Tony Ferg is dangerous as well if not the most dangerous
If you think a full size Max Hollywood is NOT a hard fight for Connie...you crazy!!!

A broken foot.green, depleted, training by himself Max survived Connie.

Connie best chance to get a W is fight Nate again, because The Diaz never change their Strategy ,and get an UD/MD or maybe Aldo, praying his trolling ways gets inside his head again.

IDT he have enough power/gas to put Tony to sleep before he gets raped,Khabob already raped him,Lee wrestlefook him and Justin is too big to be bullied in two rounds.

Old man Andy uses Connie as a cash machine.

Dana will not have him fight with dudes that will embarrass him!

But he wanted a rematch with Diaz and got it.
Wants to do it again ..
and a rematch with Nurmagomedov
Conor DOESNT give rematches....he just didnt give 2 guys he smoked a rematch, most fighters dont get rematches when they are wasted in 13 seconds and minutes.

Plus Conor at this point needs a fight that will make sense that he CAN win, he really isnt in the best position to call shots now.
The only reason he's giving nate a rematch is Nate beat him in the first fight and they're tied 1 -1.
If he had beat Nate at 196, he absolutely would not have give Nate a rematch.

i think max would outclass him now

Max is a massively improved fighter from the first fight. It was 5 years ago. Conor beat the same Max who took Leonard Garcia to split decision. If you think that's the same fighter you're blind.

Conor doesnt give rematches, Max beats him this time imo.

I'm not saying he's the same fighter. But his striking is not as sophisticated as Conor's. And hes smaller and less dangerous than Conor's previous 3 opponents.

I think Holloway wins a comfortable decision this time around
I don't think so, Max gets hit so often I have a feeling it would be either the same decision win for McGregor or an earlier KO. After watching the Max vs Jose fight I don't think max is really as amazing as he is built up to be. I don't see Max getting past Ortega so we could see this fight actually happen.

How come people only get mad when conor moves up and doesnt defend his title?

How?
Still sloppy striking and less of a threat than Conor's last three opponents.
They went the distance back then, even if still a loppy striker, thats a much better one than back then, in a 5 round fight i could see Max even submitting Conor in the later rounds.
