Show me the athletic commissions in cage weight of rose and Val. Rose said she was training all camp while weighing 135lbs. That doesnt mean that's what she weighed on fight night, and it still doesnt change the fact that val carries more muscle.
Waking up at 135, which isn't the same as walking around at 135. You lose up to 4 pounds overnight.

This was her cage weight tonight (from the official broadcast for South America). Fiorot had 4 lbs on Rose.

Valentina said she was 130 lbs against Santos.

Shevchenko weighed in at 133 lbs for her fight against Holly. Do you believe she cut 3 extra pounds because she was bored? That was what she weighed back then: 133-134 lbs. Now she's even lighter than that.

In any case, what's your point? Rose and Valentina are about the same size. If Rose is too small, so is Valentina, but I don't recall anyone saying Val should move down to strawweight.

Rose had 3.4 lbs on Weili. Was Weili too small? Should she move down to atomweight?

Not impressed at all. Manon looked mediocre at best. If Rose didn't pushed the fight we all would have feel asleep.

As they say in France

France!!!???

Rose: "My finger is broken."
Pat: "You don't need a finger right now."

My brain may very well be dead tonight, so I’m confused by this, my friend. So you’re saying you’re against ppl not acknowledging Rose’s injury then saying they’re prob the same ppl downplaying Aljo’s win by acknowledging TJ’s injury?

It sounds like what you’re saying is Rose’s injury needs to be factored in(which I agree with) while TJ’s injury vs Aljo didn’t really matter.

help me brahhh
What I'm saying is that both injuries need to be factored in, but some of the same people that shat on Aljo's win over TJ are praising Fiorot today as if she didn't barely beat an injured opponent.

I think she'd beat Grasso and Santos. She's still a better striker than them. Dunno about Erin lol. Feels like she'd dominate until the moment she slowed down and then get run over.

There were definitely easier matchups for Rose in the top 10, but they didn't want her fighting Murphy, Lee, Vivi, Chookagian, Maia, Ribas, or Barber, who I think Rose would beat. They just wanted Rose to be right in the mix for a title shot if she beat Manon.

I think she's probably better off staying at FLW and taking some of those lower ranked girls. The top part of SW is too dangerous for Rose.

If you're checked out, bro, get off this karate forum and have a rest.
Santos just seems too physical. I don't see why the top part of SW is too dangerous for Rose. She could take all od them except suarez

She could definitely beat most of SW, but I think other than Suarez, heavy hitters like Yan and Lemos might give her problems even if she is way more skilled than them. Virna and Dern might do bad things to her in the grappling.

I could see her beating all of them also though. Maybe the top part of SW ain't so bad.

Yan doesn't hit that hard I don't think. Lemos does for sure

My point was that just because people are the same size in weight, doesn't mean they should be in the same weight class. Both gsp and Max holloway are in the low 180's out of camp, but one is skinny fat and the other one is lean. Rose at 135lbs is carrying extra fat. Val near that weight is not. Rose is not a legit flyweight, at least not at the moment.

Rose is 11-6 in MMA, and 5 of those losses are at strawweight, and honestly she could be 11-7 because her "win" against torres was very questionable. She isn't some unbeatable fighter. Plenty of fighters at both straweight and flyweight could beat rose ....plenty already have at strawweight.

Are Rose hardcases really arguing amongst eachother about using the wrong excuse?

She is very strong physically and has relatively quick hands. Those two attributes are enough to take her near the top of the division. What I wonder is how she’ll do against girls that are also quick and who can hit hard, like Val and Santos.

One potential weakness I see is her cardio. Rose put a good pace on her and, while not gassed, she appeared noticeably slower in the 3rd. This might be a problem against the girls who carry their ability to strike and/or wrestle deeper into the fight, like Val, Grasso and Blanchfield. Fiorot is not a lethal finisher, so that will be something she has to contend with in a 5-rounder.

I don’t think that she outclassed Rose on the feet, as I saw several people say in the live thread. Rose clearly had the better footwork, was landing some nice counters and dictating distance throughout the fight. The reason Manon won, is that she would hurt Rose when she connected and Rose could not do the same. This is why Manon won the exchanges on the inside.

Don’t ever change guys

Yes the fan favorite was way better even though she lost<45><45><45>

I think what was "unimpressive" (don't like that framing but let's go with it) is that a lot of the difference between the two was obviously size. The reach + power was a real problem for Rose.

The impressive part was her distance management to avoid takedowns and distance control. Also, I think a win over a former champion and solid fighter like Rose demonstrates she's at least on that level technically, even if she didn't necessarily beat Rose with pure technique. She certainly wasn't outclassed either.

Fiorot is clearly legit and she should be proud of her performance imo

Couldn't agree more.

People go on like she's only ever lost because she "didn't show up" or some bullshit, while ignoring how she actually lost. She's never had any mental issues inside of the cage. If anything, Rose seems like one of the most disciplined and dialed in fighters once the fight starts.

The way she fought and lost to Carla had nothing to do with a mental state, just her diligently following an ill-advised gameplan. Even against Manon, she busted her hand early, and was immediately finding ways to stay competitive like switching stances so she could use her good hand as her power hand. A lot of fighters would have just let that injury get to them and gotten finished.

Maybe I have a soft spot for the Tiny Tornado, but I thought she edged out a close decision in that rematch.

Did Pat even look at the finger, looked like a dislocation which might be easy to fix? Also liked his your kicks are all landing, stop using them for now advice.

She looked good but Rose is completely unproven in the division. I expected Fiorot to win.
