News Welsh FW Jack Shore announced his retirement at age 29

I just saw it on the mma media’s news. I’m shocked

You could kind of tell that his heart wasn't in it any more once he moved up to FW despite clearly being a BW physically

I honestly thought he would be a future contender but I'm glad he knows when to hang it up and hopefully won't battle CTE his whole life

Jack Shore in two months when he gets that itch...

Shore is an extremely skilled and well rounded fighter but all his 3 losses to Simon, Brito, Zalal no shame losing to them showed a glaring athleticism deficit. He just physically can't compete with a certain level of fighter. He could have stuck around and picked up a lot of wins but he's being honest with himself that he wasn't ever gonna seriously contend or become champ.

I know he's young and doesn't have a lot of losses but this still doesn't surprise me.

He's just seemed done in his last few fights.

Not a bad call. If you don't think you can get to the mountain top, and are doubting your drive. Best to get out. This is an all in sport. If you're not all in, you're going to get damaged. Get out early, and get to work on the next chapter in your life early. There's still time for him to find successes elsewhere. Hopefully he sticks to it. Doubt a come back in a few years would go well, if he's not making any progress in his early prime.

Might sound crazy, but having wife and child he probably needed a stable income instead of prize fighting.
Less fighters should do that.

I think he'll be back but best of luck in his future endeavors.
