Crime Well done EU - 1930’s Berlin is Back

Sounds racist

Expect a Door Knock from UK Police

That's a rough one.

On the one hand, our UK brethren need some 1st Amendment rights. I wish they had more of that.

On the other, at least the cops didn't shoot his dog. I wish we had more of that.

There's no public demand for guns here tbh. Never really has been.

This is the same as the women wearing skimpy clothes thing.

No woman ever asks for it, and they should be free to wear what they like without any kind of harassment or intimidation.

So, too, should Jewish people or LGBTQ types.

I have no time for intolerant walkers regardless of who or what they're intolerant about. Commit a crime, then there's a problem, until then... everyone should leave you be.

Oddly, I don't see some of those rallying to this particular story in this thread as massively tolerant types.

I don't know what the last sentence means, but other than that, I agree with you.

People are going to (and should be allowed to) look, and talk/gossip/etc., but no one should be allowed to touch and/or threaten, much less anything worse.

Also, I am not an EU citizen, so my view doesn't matter.

It isn't about gun ownership, it's about the default stance our police approach our citizenry.

Here, you are considered a threat unless proven otherwise, and even then there is caution. Your dog goes without saying.

That officer is petting the dog, who clearly loves it. They are engaging with the man in a very non-threatening way, and not trying to establish some form of dominance.

I'm trying to express the desire for this gentleman to never have had authority visit his door for expressing his beliefs, whilst at the same time admiring the civil nature of the interaction.

Yeah if you shot a dog in the UK that'd be probably the worst PR move going. Brits care more about their dogs than members of their family.

A lot of the US feels the same.

Still, our cops will put a bullet in one without a second thought, even when they have the wrong address:

I saw a video on here once where a dog was "out of control" (being friendly) and the cop tried to shoot it but missed and shot and killed the owner instead.

Most American thing I've ever seen.
