Weidman not the fastest but best timing in MW division

Great observation TS.

I would have to say maybe the best timing in any division for not being ultra fast, but in timing he has done the most impressive stuff in MMA recently in his last few matches.

These damn injuries are just getting in the way of so many fighters and the Champions like him Anthony Pettis who is just plagues with leg injuries it is pretty upsetting to know that after a fight a Champion or very good contender will be injured seemingly a good 80% of the time. SMH

he's a natural. i mean some guys just GET the striking game, they just understand it better than others, head movement, footwork, range, timing counters, punches/kicks/elbows/knees, some guys never figure those things out and flourish. Weidman has, and from the looks of it, isn't done improving.

Vitor better be ready for a war.

I know I am really excited to see how he does this year with the middleweight crown but also scared as hell that injuries will mess with some exciting fights.

The only way I see him losing is if someone puts him on his back and does some serious ground and pound. And I'm not saying that is his weakness.

Haha and that might be tough, although I think he has a decent guard.

We'll see how good his timing&speed are against Vitor.. Other than win against GOAT in the 1st match (which deserves nothing but respect), he did not fight anybody else from the top 5. He beat Maya (not even top 10 at that time), and Munoz (definitely NOT top 5). He still has lot to prove.

Wrong! Munoz was ranked 4 and Maia was ranked 6.

someone's off dubs

Weidman's a gamer. Right now I have him as the favorite against all the MWs.

You're goddamn right I am. It's good to be free... :icon_lol:

Regarding your statement about Weidman I gotta agree with you, but I believe Machida has a solid chance of dethroning The Chris.

Weidman fought a injured Munoz while as Machida fought a healthy Munoz and beat him more quickly and more impressively IMO. The best elbow KO I've ever seen was Silva vs Fryklund.

I think he has the best chance out of all the middleweights but I still give the edge to weidman

Tough fight to call, and I'm leaning slightly towards Machida right now because Weidman's cardio remains a mistery.

I think vitors timing is better, that elbow was sick but vitors left hook under hendos H bomb was a perfectly timed counter to one of the most dangerous punches in mma

How is that the better elbow, weidmans was quicker and against a way better opponent then Fryklund who probably wasn't even in the top 50 of his division.

It's the long reach that helps Weidman but machida has the best timing

No way. Lyoto pulls off moves like that or better in most if not all the fights he's ever been in.

He is impressive but really the most spectacular strike he has hit was against someone who was on the wrong side of 40

The entire middleweight division is very interesting. With Belfort, Machida, Jacare, Moose, and the recent acquisition of Khalidov, there is no shortage of exciting fights for The Chris.
