No It isn't, Silva had double digit title defenses and reigned for 2,000+ days. Weidman didn't.

Weidman is several steps below Silva. Hate it all you want, but that's facts.
 
I knew Anderson was gonna be special when he entered UFC. I remember telling people and they scoffed.
 
Anderson my favourite…..but he fought like a jackass and paid for it …..Can’t get anymore of a clean win then literally bouncing his head off the canvas…..Weidman was also doing extremely well before the leg break

Fighters break their hand all the time punching someone's face. You never say the guy that actually got frkin punched in the face that he destroyed the other one <45>

Silva was the one attacking! It's just a freak injury!

"dancing around like a moron" was always a big part of his game as he got older. His reflexes weren't as sharp, as we saw in the Bonnar fight, but his gimmicks made his opponents expose themselves. He definitely lost because he was past his physical prime and, as it is in the fight game, because a young wolf came hungry and determined.

You can’t compare the two. Getting your face punched isn’t a legit defense to defend against getting punched in the face (unless you were born in the 60s and grew up watching the movie Gladiator) where as checking leg kicks isn’t the same as just getting kicked in the leg. It’s an actual defensive move that can result in the breaking of a leg. Kind of like a guillotine can be turned into a von flue. The end result won’t always turn into a submission but sometimes it does.
 
Essentially you are playing language games. He beat him twice, he won both fights, how else do you prove you are "better" other than winning fights? So winning fights doesn't equal better, so what does?

E.g. Dan Henderson beat Fedor but Dan Henderson never proved he's better than Fedor. Something of a meaningless statement.

The check Weidman was using wasn’t your standard defensive kick check, nimrod. It was, by its design, being used offensively.

If any of you zoomer idiots spent half as much time listening as you did running your stupid mouths you might learn something. This has all been well documented for years for anyone interested in actually learning, versus pushing a narrative.

I’m sorry you’re such an insecure bigot so emotionally invested in race that seeing a White fighter dominate a black fighter so brutally triggered you the way it has. Deal with it.

Umm.... As someone who got drawn into UFC like many as a teenager who watched TUF 1. Silva was easily my favorite fighter since the night he walked into the cage against Chris Leben as some guy I have never heard of before and obliterated him until well past his title reign, that is a completely b.s. take. Clowning was a part of his game, it was showboating but it was also strategy. It's something that got into fighters heads, made them open when they shouldn't have and most importantly, Anderson masterfully used it to set traps. Even if it didn't get in your head it still threw most fighters off because it's not someone you can train for easily and it puts you into situations you don't train for but Silva had.

Did Silva fuck up and take it a little too far?

Of course but he almost always did and that counts as part of his skill set. That combo was the greatest moment of Weidman's career. He wasn't supposed to have anything in the feet for Silva, much less an answer for his taunting. He trained for it and he trained combinations like that relentlessly it's main goal was to throw off the timing of Silva's predictive head movement and catch him where he was going to be next, not where he was was moving at the time. There was no luck involved in that, that was preparation and execution.

The second fight Weidman was winning and even rolled back Silva's eyes in the clinch before that freak leg injury.

It's impossible to know the fight would of played out Silva clowned around less or if the there was no injury in the second but Silva's clowning helped get fighters to open up more so not sure why some people still think Silva would of magically dominated if he didn't clown at all.

Who knows what would have happened if they fought 10 times but that goes for all rivalries. Just like how I think if Izzy and Alex fought ten times in MMA that Izzy would be ahead it doesn't matter. In the sample size we have if you count both sports Alex has been better. Same with Silva/Weidman.

It’s ridiculous that a pro athlete is out of their prime at 23. I’m more pointing out the fact that as soon as a fighter loses his butthurt fanboys will automatically go to the “he’s out of his prime” excuse.

The first was a clean win, Anderson just made the mistake of dropping his hands after getting over confident. Weidman looked good early, but the way the fight was going I have little doubts Anderson would have finished him in the 3rd or 4th round. Anderson was getting comfortable, landing his kicks and stuffing TDs pretty easily and it looked like Chris was fading a bit.

Yeah but it’s warranted in this case, as the fighter in question was 38 years old.

He pretended like he was hurt to get Weidman coming in and throws a counter,its just that it misses. Despite that he is able to avoid Weidman's attacks
Anderson saw all the punches coming,its just that the crazy backhand caused him to over extend and thus he couldnt evade that last hit. He didnt really make a mistake,he simply got trapped.

The humilating aspect,was that because he was acting like Weidman wasnt shit,when he was getting beat,so him using this flashyness made it more satisfying for people who wanted him to lose,but really he was trying to trick Weidman into making mistakes,and it was working to some extent. He got in Weidman's head.
 
Silva definitely could have won that first fight. But he didn't. After the second fight, Silva was broken. Career basically over.

Weidman was at his peak and Silva was entering the tail end of his career.

Of course a prime Silva would have won. Silva's career was obviously significantly better.

Aging Silva/prime Chris/ a little luck / and a bad match up for the spider
