I still can't understand why Silva clowned around like he did in that fight. Did he ever explain it?

Did you watch Anderson Silva fight?
Silva before that fight complained about being tired of the pressure of being champ. He fought sloppy and didn’t seem himself. People say he always fought like that. Hogwash. He fought like a man that didn’t care. Damn near as bad as Luke Bispingcos he was losing, and needed to con Weidman into making a mistake.
Silva was past his prime in their first fight.
Silva lost the first fight due to showboating and not taking the fight seriously.
Silva lost the second fight due to a freak leg kick.
These three factors make Weidman's wins against Silva dubious at best.
I still contend that a focused, prime Silva circa 2010 destroys Weidman.

I've watched almost all of his fights and whenever he clowned opponents it was in fights that he was comfortably winning already. I don't remember him clowning against Sonnen, Vitor or Hendo.
Not even close. Actually, you're so far off the mark it's hilarious. Go and watch the first round against Chris.
He clowned whenever he thought he could use it to his advantage and especially when he didn't feel threatened.

I'm literally mentioning three specific fights where he didn't clown and you're telling me to rewatch a completely different fight to prove I'm far off the mark? Doesn't make any sense.

Silva really didn’t fight as sloppy as he did against Weidman before or after. Even in his losses and feinting. He was old and voiced his frustration with the pressure of being champ. Not claiming dive. I’m saying heart and head not in itSilva was getting old, for the rest of his career he only won one iffy decision against Brunson and went to distance against Nick even if he was on the juice.
Weidman was better than old man Silva, not so sure if they would've fought a few years earlier.

I looked at it as slow start and Silva didn’t seem rattled or phasedHeart and head definitely in the rematch, and he was getting beat up worse in that one before the leg break.
You literally made this statement, numbnuts:
It's completely false. His clowning didn't start once he was comfortably winning. His clowning would start whenever he wanted to intimidate his opponent or believed he would benefit from it. He would also use it early sometimes to gauge timing, distance etc.
"Go watch the first round against Chris" means exactly that, go watch the first round.
I'm aware of what happened in the first Chris fight. The whole argument as to why it felt off is because of him not clowning around in many important fights against seriously threatening opponents. That's how I see it but I don't really care in the end nor would I use it as an excuse. Silva was getting very old and Weidman was a bad matchup for him anyway. It's the way the fight game works. Everybody who goes on long enough ends up losing.
He clowned in the majority fights. The specific three you listed were instances where he didn't have the opportunity to do it to the extent he usually does.
He clearly didn't respect Chris' power, as seen in the first round. There are many instances in various fights where he clowned and got tagged but just walked through it. Maia, Okami, Chael II etc. This is obvious to anyone who has actually seen him fight.
I have no idea why you're now talking about his age. Yes, he was old but that's not what we were discussing. You jumped into a discussion, were hilariously wrong, and are now babbling about something else.
