We finally get to see how a freak NBA A-level slam dunk champ athlete does in combat sports

Perpetually insecure MMA fans lol. When did American men become such weak pussies?
I didnt grow up with men so desperate for affirmation.
The shit is as, it’s like little kids desperate for the thinnest evidence to wrap their emotions around.
Go up and down the homepage, the threads just reek of insecurity, no other sports fans are so inadequate.

Let’s see
-50+ page LeBron James thread
-a level athlete thread
-wwe cm punk thread
-who’s more marketable
-Chechen leader shit
- how many followers a fighter has thread
-a fighter looking “THICC”

No other sports fans talk about shit like this! Lol
It's all psychological.
MMA is not a premier sport. It's a sport for others. If you're a good athlete you play football basketball or baseball. If you can fight you box.
If you cant do any of those sports, you go into MMA.
Paul's not an MMA fighter. The argument is that A Level athletes would destroy MMA fighters. Not boxers.

Explosive? Hes known for being small and winning dunk contests some based purely on him being small. He was a non factor on the court. Deontay Wilder is your cross over example.

Wilder couldn't make a major college team, much less the NBA. Nate is a foot shorter and still a thousand times the basketball player Wilder is.

He was p4p one of the stronger guys in the nba who also played college football. He was fast and had an insane leaping ability obviously to be able dunk on people in the nba at that height. Vertical leap has long been used in sports as a metric for testing an athlete's raw athletic ability. They do it in the nba and the nfl

Wilder played football and basketball until like 21. Didnt even pick up gloves until then and become a World Champion. Get the fuck outta here.
Wilder is an a level athlete and the exact combo of being that elite and taking over the most brutal sport in the world with little technique. That's a true A Level athlete. But hell never beat AJ.

He was. And Nate used that to his advantage at first. He easily closed the distance but then Jake did what any competent boxer would do against a fast onrushing opponent... he took a step back and countered. And that was all she wrote for Nate. All that untrained athleticism didn’t mean a goddamn thing against a fit non-athlete with superior training.

Basketball and football players athleticism are not directly applicable to combat sports. Oh, you can dunk on a 10 ft rim? You can run 40 yards in 4.3 seconds? You can bench press 225 pounds 30 times? Doesn’t mean you can whoop a you tubers ass. A Boxing match is fought on the ground & in and around the pocket, a space anywhere from the size of a phone booth to a large elevator. Whole different playing field. Whole different set of mechanics.
He still has nba level athleticism, but at his height he had to be a level even higher in the nba and he wasn't really the most skilled guy on the court. In terms of raw athleticism he still is probably faster and has a better vertical than any 5'8 or 5'9 guy in mma or boxing

Yea with guys who are 6'6 and 6'8
Lebron at 260lbs jumping over a grown man... what do you think, with your pudgy little stomach and your 4 years of rolling on the mat with another 160lb man that its gonna get you prepared for that?
Maybe if you fought Mugsy Bogues.

Wtf is the weird obsession with treating jumping ability as proof of combat capacity.

Like it’s intimidating when you consider how high the other dude can JUMP.

We will know the answer when Paul fights McGregor. Youtube Boxer vs MMA Boxer.

Jake Paul beats Ben Askren, has a tough fight with Dillon Danis. and gets humiliated by McGregor.
He should fight Ben
I think Jake Paul could fight Askren, Shields and Maia in a row and win.
McGregor, yes, I'd give it to McGregor but it could be entertaining.
The best part would be the introductions: 2-0 Jake Paul vs 0-1 McGregor.

Nobody's talking about me, I don't even do bjj anyways. Lebron would get handled in a boxing or mma fight against subpar competitor that's close to his size probably worse than Nate did. Nate actually has comparable raw athletic ability to Lebron, he just doesn't have his size, skill or iq. Nate was actually known for being a scrappy tough guy in the league as well, unlike Lebron who people like to call soft at times

Its actually the speed and athletic ability of a guy so big that interests ppl. Nate Robinson is actually not that guy. Hes small so the allure of watching someone like Ben Wallace or Lebron James coming from the NBA wasn't really represented by him.

That's what I said yesterday. McGregor would have to listen to "Undefeated from Cleveland Ohio 2-0 Jake Paul."

Nate used to get beat up in South Seattle and Central Tacoma. Hes not a fighter and was pushed towards BBall to keep him from getting picked on.
Let Paul fight Damian.

Yeah Paul's not an MMA fighter, he's not even a pro fighter, he's a Youtuber.

And Nates not an A Level Athlete.
Ppl talk about Lebron, Shaq, Dwight Howard, Ben Wallace, Guys of that stature when regarding this discussion.
No one has ever gave a fuck about watching Allen Iverson fight someone.

Logan Paul and his brother Jake are A+ athletes and not some former youtube or Disney dopes. Logan s a former D1 college wrestler and was said be very good. His brother Jake use to wrestle in highschool and both are very athletic and are big strong guys.

Nate had no business in there and never had his hands up. Sloppy technique, iq was shit, and Nate just ran into Jake and hugged him and swung for fences. Jake has been boxing for a while.

The idea that Jake is not athletic is false. Jake has power, he’s athletic, decent footwork, experienced, and can throw a jab with power . Nate cannot do either but his athleticism kept him in there for two rounds.

Nates athletic ability to run into Jake with the speed of a gazelle kept him from being knocked out in the first. If that was some flat footed bum with no speed, Jake would have killed him in the first couple seconds.
