5 out of the UFC's 11 champions are now Slavic.

This is not counting Khabib Nurmagamedov, who's technically not Slavic even though he's from Russia (Dagestanis and other Caucus people fall into separate ethnolinguistic groups).

These are the ethnic backgrounds of each champion and not the countries they're from (Stipe is from US and Volkonovski is from New Zealand).

Also- I understand that Brazilian is a national identity like 'American' or 'Australian'... regardless, neither of the 2 Brazilian champions are Slavic.

Apparently we all descend from Africans going back millions of years so maybe this is the African era.
There were no people as you know them right now millions of years ago. And I don't recommend comparing modern day Africans to those who lived millions years ago.

So some of the fighters you list like Volk dont even identify as being Slavic, are now Slavic.

Sherdog really knows how to write a narrative.
He's ethnically a slav. Its not something you get a choice in.

Volkanovski is an Australian and is half Greek I think. Hardly Slavic.

I would much prefer an "Eastern Euro" list excluding Volkanovski but including Khabib. I doubt that Stipe has much Croatian culture in him. He looks and sound like some Midwest redneck to me. But I know in North America it s all about ethnicity due to the lack of everything else.

Had to google for the sake of not being racist.

Lets go 270 000 years ago.

Granted but I also don't think he applies to this argument without knowing when his family moves to Aus.

With that logic theres never been ethnically an American champ as no champ has been Native American.

I get others but Volk is kinda clutching at straws.

So Izzy is no longer black because he's from Australia?

Thats what you got from that?

FYI. Historically Australians aren't white, great example.

FYI. Izzy also isnt Australian. So its moreso hes no longer Australian because he never was in the first place.

Redneck is for Southern White Americans, not people from the Midwest.
