Maybe I dont know what a serious injury is, but I always thought this was a serious injury. Dana keep saying there has never been a serious injury in the UFC. Either he forgot about this one or has different definition of what a serious injury is
serious = life threatening
imo
Dana's talking about the life-altering injuries. Most fighters break at least one bone in their lives, if not several bones multiple times. Hill's leg was nasty, but it wasn't serious, in the grand scheme of things.
No one's broken their neck (though this has happened in an amateur bout, IIRC), no one's been paralyzed (again, 1-2 in ammy competition, think it might've been the same one as the neck), no one's lost a limb (though there's a couple who started missing one or several).
I believe Frank Shamrock paralyzed a guy for life in a UFC fight. I might be wrong but I coulda sworn it was a result of a slam.

He broke his collarbone. You're talking about Zinoviev.
to me this is still one of the best knockouts in mma history. war frank shamrock! the funny thing about this is that this is the only loss in Zinoviev's mma career. He is 4-1 with four finishes... with 2 draws.
Frank was a goddamned stud!
And a gentleman! Stopped hitting as soon as he realized that Zinoviev's out, a guy like Rashad would keep hitting and hitting.
It's too bad that it ended Zinoviev's career, he was very promising, KOd Enson and Sperry.

you need to watch the liddell fight again bud, hes no paul daley it only took one punch and as soon as herb stepped in it was over.
if you are referring to the forrest fight its not his fault if the ref doesn't stop it just like in the pat curran joe warren fight
