Maybe I dont know what a serious injury is, but I always thought this was a serious injury. Dana keep saying there has never been a serious injury in the UFC. Either he forgot about this one or has different definition of what a serious injury is

It was pretty fucking serious. I think he means like life threatening. People break legs all the time in all sports

Broken bones happen, whatever. A serious injury would be brain damage.

I mean. It was a broken leg. Took like a year off. But it wasn't life threatening, nevertheless career ending.

I'd consider it serious, but if you watch a few Dana interviews you'll get the idea that he talks in extremes. There have been few serious injuries - so Dana will say there have been none. I notice him saying this a lot when trying to push MMA legalization in New York.

It wasn't career ending and certainly not life-threatening. It was gross looking but that doesn't mean it was serious.. He was back to training 9 or 10 months after the incident.

Dana's talking about the life-altering injuries. Most fighters break at least one bone in their lives, if not several bones multiple times. Hill's leg was nasty, but it wasn't serious, in the grand scheme of things.

No one's broken their neck (though this has happened in an amateur bout, IIRC), no one's been paralyzed (again, 1-2 in ammy competition, think it might've been the same one as the neck), no one's lost a limb (though there's a couple who started missing one or several).

I believe Frank Shamrock paralyzed a guy for life in a UFC fight. I might be wrong but I coulda sworn it was a result of a slam.

I tell you what, it was serious enough to make me puke in my mouth. I hate watching that video. Especially since i am a fellow chicken leg having guy.

I don't remember who it was but I'm 99% sure the guy walked away and just didn't fight anymore.

He broke his collarbone. You're talking about Zinoviev.

to me this is still one of the best knockouts in mma history. war frank shamrock! the funny thing about this is that this is the only loss in Zinoviev's mma career. He is 4-1 with four finishes... with 2 draws.

It wasnt serious... A real man would have walked it off.

I guess, yeah, in comparison to not being hurt, but in comparison to brain damage/paralysis/death, no.

Frank was a goddamned stud!
And a gentleman! Stopped hitting as soon as he realized that Zinoviev's out, a guy like Rashad would keep hitting and hitting.

It's too bad that it ended Zinoviev's career, he was very promising, KOd Enson and Sperry.

you need to watch the liddell fight again bud, hes no paul daley it only took one punch and as soon as herb stepped in it was over.

if you are referring to the forrest fight its not his fault if the ref doesn't stop it just like in the pat curran joe warren fight

you really want to accuse Rashad for these kind of fouls? come on. :icon_neut

I mean the Salmon KO. Salmon was completely out yet Rashad started throwing some super brutal ground and pound even when the ref got a hold of him.

EDIT: To be honest, the only reason why I said Rashad in the first place was cause he was the first name that comes to mind. Then when I got called out I thought deep and hard to remember a time when Shad went berserk on a KOd opponent :icon_chee
