Media Was Valentina dominating before she lost?

Not dominating. But she was winning all the rounds.
All rounds? Really? I thought Alexa took the first and was doing good in the 4rh before the finish. Valentina did well on the ground, but couldn't secure any positions. Alexa was always fighting and frustrated Val. 2-2 or 3-1 at worst imo

I personally think Valentina lost the first, won the next 2 and upto the stoppage was losing 4th. I wouldn't say dominating.

Valentina seems to think so. She said it post fight and doubled down on this IG post from a few hours ago.

I don't, to me it seemed like Grasso adjusted to everything Valentina did and she got frustrated. What do the sherbros think? Discuss.

No she wasn't. It was close, even if she was winning.

Why is this even debatable? She wasn't dominating, that's a simple fact.

It's also a fact that if she hadn't been stopped, the fight would be 2-2 going into the 5th.

Why are you guys arguing over this?

Didn't all three judges give Grasso the first? I thought Grasso won that myself.

Val won 2 and 3 pretty clearly. She was doing more on the feet than Grasso i the 4th. She probably would have won that round as well if she'd survived the choke.

It would have been either 3-1 or 2-2 going into the 5th. Hardly a domination lol.
Here you go, as you said Alexa won r1 then lost the other 2

???

No one's arguing, most people are on the same page. Val is the one making these claims. Did you read any post in this thread or just the title?

I read the thread, and I also read all the other threads on the same topic, which is why I'm asking why it is even debatable (since it apparently is, hence all the threads).

Nope got clipped hard in the first. Had good ground control in rnd 2. 3 was closer but was still shev. Grasso won the 4th. Would have been even going in the fifth. Shev has some serious skills but she is delusional and unable to look outside herself. She was losing the stand up fight, she is really good but hasn’t had to evolve like other fighters in the division. She also may just be slowing down due to age and mileage. That was no fluke, Grasso came to win was hyper focused and fought a great fight against a tough and game opponent. I really hate Shevs attitude here, makes it hard to like her.

This is how I saw it I saw Val desperate, almost angry. Like she was insulted for being challenged and she fatigued.

She was not dominating, and this is coming from a huge Shevchenko fan. Alexa’s hands were definitely causing problems for Shevchenko…..

I wouldn't call it dominating, but I had her up on the score card, and I think the judges did too iirc. She was winning until she lost :D

Many people were scoring it 2-2. To claim that she was dominating is silly. Regardless, Grasso was well prepared, had a good plan and Shev gave up in the fourth. You can't spin quiting.

Dominating is a very strong word. She was winning. Dominating implies that it would take a absolute Hail Mary for Grasso to win and that wasn't the case. Grasso showed throughout the fight that she had some outs and may not necessarily need a error from Valentina.

2-2 if she survives the round. Probably spends half the next round baiting Grasso to throw, eeking out a TD, and landing some pitter patter punches to steal the last round.

This is one fight where a dominant champion lost and I’m not too convinced they’ll come back and take the title easily.

Nunes vs Pena you could see a skill difference and that if Nunes fixed the cardio there’d be a change.

Shevchenko was up but there was never a time in that fight where I felt Grasso was out of that fight. Grasso was more than holding her own with the boxing if not winning the stand up on damage grounds.

While she was getting taken down rd 2/3 she was starting to manage her defence and was able to get up. Plus Val wasn’t necessarily lighting her up on the ground.

I’d have Val as a slight favourite but if it’s in Mexico City at altitude, if Val gets tired and can’t mix it up with the grappling, I wouldn’t be surprised if Grasso won again
