Media Was Valentina dominating before she lost?

She obviously wasn't "dominating," but she was winning. Grasso won the first, and Shevchnenko won the 2nd and 3rd. Shevchenko was winning, but it was a competitive fight.

She won 2/3 completed rounds. I would never call that dominating when she won them by tds, and lay and pray.

I don’t know how the 4th would have been scored. But if Grasso took that on the scorecards it’s a tied fight going into the last round 38-38. So there is literally NO WAY anybody can call that dominating.

Not even her delusional fanbase.

It was a fairly close fight with plenty of time left. She wasn't "dominating" as much as Adesanya was against Pereira and we saw how that panned out. Let alone Chael vs. Anderson I.

She basically turned into a wrestler and didn't seem close to finishing or causing damage. Unless you can hold her down for 25 minutes and not tire it's hard to just rely on that to win fights. Grasso was winning the standup.

I also don't understand how fighters still don't grasp anything to do with PR and what the fans say about them. All Schev should say is that it was a close fight up until the finish, Grasso was the better fighter, but she thinks she deserves a rematch and that the next fight will be different.

I don't even think she had to be that humble, but saying she was dominating until she made a single mistake was super condescending for no reason. She keeps repeating it too, so she obviously feels this way. And as many have pointed out to me, Val has even been arrogant in wins. She needs to chill and remember that they gifted her a division after going 0-2 against Nunes.

She was winning and on her way to a decision probably but it definitely was not a domination. Grasso won rd 1 and Val hadn't done a lot besides the takedowns to win rounds on pts.

at the pace, judges would have easily given her the decision.

Valentina seems to think so. She said it post fight and doubled down on this IG post from a few hours ago.

I don't, to me it seemed like Grasso adjusted to everything Valentina did and she got frustrated. What do the sherbros think? Discuss.

Nothing new here Val's got a usa sized ego she also dominated Santos and the Amanda rematch.

She was looking to be comfortably up 3-1 before that one mistake tho.

No she isn't dominating imo

Thought she won 2nd and 3rd rounds due to the take downs, if she survived the sub, it would have been 2 rounds each

I feel she said she's dominating the fight because she is in denial, like she said she clearly won the Santos fight, its pretty close

Didn't all three judges give Grasso the first? I thought Grasso won that myself.

Val won 2 and 3 pretty clearly. She was doing more on the feet than Grasso i the 4th. She probably would have won that round as well if she'd survived the choke.

It would have been either 3-1 or 2-2 going into the 5th. Hardly a domination lol.

For sure I'm not saying she wasn't up (or at worst 2-2) , but dominating?

I think she was clearly winning but she lost the first so she wasn't dominating. Still, I think people here are selling her performance short.

She will be the favorite in the rematch, and rightfully so.

Shev's own corner was very concern about her getting pieced up on the feet. Her coach was telling her to only fire 1 strike at a time.

I thought Grasso might do well vs Shev on the feet with her fast, accurate hands, but the real surprise to me was that Grasso was able to get back up. Shev had Grasso in the crucifix and the latter scrambled out of it without taking any damage.

She was panic--wrestling after getting lit up in the first round
No, she did exactly what she complained that Santos did to her. She got outstruck and then held on for her life to try to steal rounds. If she survived that choke it would have been 2-2 going into the 5th with Grasso being much fresher.

Great point. If the judges scored it same way as two of the judges scored the Santos fight, Val would have been down all three rounds before the finish.

She was winning but it was fairly close.

Not dominating. But she was winning all the rounds.
