Was UFC better 10 years ago?

That's cool, I might have too in retrospect, but Cain vs DC and DC vs Jon isn't Cain vs Jon. And you'd still not be addressing the fact that Jon himself drew the line in the sand about the difference between LHW and HW, even specifically referencing DC when doing it.
Yeah he referenced DC, not Cain....

Yeah he referenced DC, not Cain....
Which you obviously implied in your first post that he wouldn't have an issue with because of his fights with DC, seeing as you were the one to bring him up in the first place.

It went like this:
"Cain would beat Jon at HW"
"No, cuz he beat DC and DC was better than Cain."
"He beat DC at LHW and admitted he wouldn't fight DC at HW because HW is a different animal altogether. So saying who is better than who doesn't matter when you're talking about a different weight, and Jon said as much and most fans know that and know what MMA math is and shouldn't have to explain it by fictionally paraphrasing a conversation in quotes."

Besides, if we want to break down Jon vs Cain directly, we can take a look at Oct '12 when Jon said he was definitely looking to move up in 2013, then Cain won the belt in Dec, and Jon kept moving the goal posts on his "inevitable" move to HW for a decade

That's not how it went and you can't go making baseless assumptions.

I said I think Jon would beat any version of Cain because I think Jon is better than Cain. I also think DC is better than Cain, which is a completely separate, unrelated comment. I think he's better than Cain based off what I've seen with my eyes. I have no idea what you're going on about with the MMA math

It was better when you had to go to blockbuster and pray they had a few vhs tapes of it.

Actually I said Pri e Cain would beat 2023 version Bones which hands down he does its not even a debate really. Prime Bones v Prime Cain at HW is a toss up I'm not sure. But I'm pretty fucking certain if 2013 Cain fought 2023 Bones...... Bones doesn't leave still unbeaten .

Now we have a handful of good fighters in each weight class with the rest just average or below average.

DJ vs Pantoja- most likely DJ takes it
Barao vs O’Malley- Suga by KO
Aldo vs Volk- Volk by decision
Islam vs Pettis- Islam destroys Pettis
GSP vs Leon- Leon would actually be a stylistic nightmare for GSP. I’d say Leon by close decision.
Silva vs Strickland- tough fight for Silva. It could actually go the same way as his first fight with Weidman.
Jones vs Pereira- Poatan would have a puncher’s chance, but Jones takes this one
Cain vs Jones/Aspinall- both are way better on the feet than Cain and can easily match his wrestling/grappling. Cain is overrated

Prime Bones is the best overall fighter I have ever seen . At 50 i have seen just about all the greats. Divisions exist for a reason. There was a reason GSP wouldn't fight Anderson , a reason Anderson wouldn't fight Bones, and a reason Bones wouldn't fight Cain . Size matters.

Cain would murder jones. Jones would gas out quick and get lit up. Look what he did to JDS twice

I don't think Cain was the reason Jon wouldn't fight at HW

I think guys like Overeem posed much more problems for Jon than Cain did.

Who said they fight alike? DC doesn't suck, dude.
I never said he sucks, I think Cain would present jones more problems at heavyweight. His cardio and pressure is better than DC and he’s more aggressive, throws more volume.

lol and then you wake up.
Jones has only fought one heavyweight who was a kickboxer and he finished him in 2 mins. We don’t know how jones would look in a 5 rd fight at HW against an elite guy like Cain. I see Cain pressuring him and gassing him out like he did JDS. Cain wouldn’t have to worry about the grappling either

We're seeing old AF, past prime Jon. Can't compare him to prime Cain. That's ridiculous.

Prime Jon moving to HW is a different story than mid 30s Jon moving to HW.

I think the Jon that beat DC in the rematch beats any version of Cain.

I think overall the quality of fighter has gone up slightly.

Jones at any age would be slower at hw. Putting on 30-40 lbs would affect anyone’s cardio. It would be his toughest fight. He didn’t move up to HW until 2023 for a reason. He waited until all his challenges left, Cain, Ngannou and the rest and now he’s cherry picking guys with zero grappling like Gane or 50 year old slow washed up guys like Stipe

I think the skill levels have gone up a ton in 10 years. How often have we seen wrestlers with nearly dominant wrestling all the sudden be completely incapable of using their wrestling 5-10 years later? May be a skill drop with age but I think it has more to do with the improved skills with present day training.

UFC was definitely more entertaining 10 years ago though. The name recognition has gone down 100 fold since then.

Cain was gone a long while before Jon moved up. If anything, in the past few years, Francis was the reason he didn't
