Was Pride the most overrated organisation ever?

Anderson Silva, Rampage Jackson, Dan Henderson, Shogun, Werdum, Overeem all had a lot of success stateside

not to mention none of those guys but Shogun were ever considered the best in Pride. Pride can't be too bad if their 2nd fiddles are UFC champions.

Brings me back to another point, most of them were on steroids. I mean half of these guys have tested positive. So an organisation where most guys use steroids and the referees wears an earpiece

UFC fighters arent any better

Fedors win streak wasn't as impressive as its made out to be. Half of them were Japanese no names

how can that be? he has only fought 7 Japanese fighters in 46 fights. you have to actually know about things in order to have legitimate criticisms of it otherwise you just look like an ignorant troll.

No, they had some great fighters/fights, and most of all they knew how to be spectacular and put on a show (something the UFC lacks totally in comparison)

PRIDE had no pretention, it was just fun, entertaining, cheesy in a good way and a little bit crazy.

Yea, that’s what I said. They sent their best, and they lost.
Well there were some fighters that were legit I admit. But I keep hearing "Prime cro cop, Wanderlei etc... They were in their prime and were exposed

actually competition gets better with shit like roids...how the fuck it weakens it? Never understood that logic

Oh, and chael should stfu about cheating

There would be more ppv buys if ufc had pride rules

No. If you can’t watch Pride and appreciate it in context you don’t get MMA. Replace UFC in your question and it’s just as wrong.

Prime Shogun is another one. He became champ but he just matched up well with Machida. In most of his other fights he was destroyed
Machida was an absolutely amazing fighter. He was an undefeated world champion, looked nearly untouchable and had just KTFO another undefeated world champion Rashad Evans and took his belt. Shogun had been dealing with many injuries in the years prior like a a broken arm and knee injuries. He was finally healthy for the Machida fights and he looked great in both. Unfortunately, Shogun blew his knee out in that short fight where he KO'ed Machida. Shogun had another surgery and then fought a young replacement fighter in Jon Jones. Jones beat him so bad that night. Shogun took so much damage and never looked the same after that.

Shogun was the best 205lb fighter in the world in 2005 when be ran through 4 top 10 fighters to win a massive tournament. He then suffered a few injuries for a few years and then became the best 205lb fighter in the world again 5 years later. Everything after that was Zombie Shogun but was still major bonus for his legacy and his fans. Unbelievable career. Unlike any other

He was good but overhyped. Everybody gets injuries
