Was Antonina the biggest letdown in WMMA?

About a 1. Any siblings that ever kicked ass in combat sports outside of the Klitchkos? But didn't appear that way at 1st either.

Maycee is only 26 and on a 6-fight win streak. You might not like her but how does she qualify for this thread? By not fulfilling her quest to become youngest champion?
that's why i say it's kinda unpopular. She came in with a huge hype, but she's not some world beater.

Jamahal Hill and his brother
(Well, could say Nick and Nate Diaz, not champ material, but very popular)

For me it's Lipski. She had hype and looks before UFC, luckily nobody has beaten the looks off her yet, even though the hype escaped like Clint from Alcatraz.

And I will absolutely second Ladd - even though she seems to have gotten her shit together much more post-UFC.

Antonia was always the prettier, inferior sister to be honest. She kinda did what she "was supposed to do" all in all.

Rin Nakai is also a contender, but there's so much weirdness revolving around her it's probably some alternate reality stuff. But she's the personification of "where the competition is easier"

Not really. I thought she might make it to fringe top 10 at best since she doesn't have her sister's athleticism and ground game. She showed promising improvements early but then she stalled out and started regressing which was a bit disappointing.

Not really
Antonina has better credentials in KB compared to Val...
But that does'nt really mean she would translate those to MMA.
We may say Claressa Shields was a bigger letdown than her tbh
That tkd girl from Bellator also... That one that went to some WWE stuff and only fought cans till she lost and gave up.

Rin Nakai and it's not even close.

Big undefeated record and then came to the UFC and delivered two absolute stinkers.

Basically the WMMA Erokhin.
She’s a natural FLW, and was clearly too small to fight at BW. Especially someone like Miesha Tate. Who was number 2 in the world. Even against Smith, who is 5’9”, compared to Rin who is 5’1”. She never had a chance. She had a very short reach, as well.

Those are still the only 2 fights Rin ever lost. Yet it should have been clear her muscles would not help with cardio. And if you look at Rin’s career there are loads of fights on there that weren’t even 3, 5 minute rounds. 2 round fights. 3, 3 minute rounds, etc.

I always thought they should have brought her back when they made the 125 division.

I can’t agree with her as your choice, considering I know, and remember important facts.

I don't recall any high expectations. It was more like "Oh, Val's sister, lets see how good she is" then you saw her fight once and learned that she wasn't that good.

I was always hot for Val but never saw much of her sister. When she came into the UFC, some of the beta threads were absurd and hardcore WMMA followers were hyping her up as much as her sister.

She came in looking mid as f and disappeared into the clouds (piloting now, I do believe).

Whilst WMMA has very few true brilliant fighters, on a scale of 1 to 2, how disappointed were you and were you invested in her?

Wasn't disappointed necessarily. There were a few decent scraps among her mostly losses.

It was a "building period" and she was a Lego.

I still don't understand a thing. When I watch ONE female fights there is a level of ferocity I don't often see in the UFC and I wonder if I don't understand fighting or they have better fighters.

Can't remember any hype around her tbh.

As somebody has stated, Megan Anderson is a very good shout. I think we have to throw Cong Wang into the mix if she picks up another loss. Maybe harsh though.

I wholly agree with that about One.
Must be the diet. .
