Warhammer 40k

Yeah hes with chaos undivided so has no bonds as are his marines
Can be coldly logical and would be an awesome steal if he came back ..dudes and awesome inventor too

Well rumours are one from each side falls to the other

thats gay, leave the loyalist alone. Thats the stupidest plot ever, i was actually hoping we'd see something more cool like us going to andramada Galaxy or something like that
or the Nids pushing into the milkey way and we find out what they're running from. Not musical damn chairs

mmmm 30k weapons. Don the salamander still have access to 30k tech?
Kinda. Their artifice is such that they've got more old shit laying around than most chapters. They've also never formed any successor chapters so none of their relics got split up. So, for example, if they wanted to they could field nearly their entire first company (which is 120 men, rather than the standard 100) in terminator armor. They also have lots of land raiders (and of varying flavors, such as having more Land Raider Prometheus command vehicles than any other chapter). I'm pretty sure they also have a couple Fellblade/Glaive superheavy tanks kicking around.

But I don't think they're actively producing older marks of vehicles or equipment.

New community post [LINK] is about weapon profiles. There's really not much new info but we do get to see three common profiles:
New40kWeaponProfiles.jpg

So with this we get to see how former template weapons work (random number of automatic hits). We also get to see the new AP mod and multiple damage with the lascannon profile, though we already knew this is where the game was going. Interestingly we were also told that overkill doesn't spill over, so even if you roll a six for damage against an ork boy you still only splatter one model (he's just really, really dead).

So I've got a question for you guys. I'm trying to figure out what faction I want to do for my Imperial Knights. My alternate armor is coming along (finally, had a ton of issues printing it) and I'm far enough that I'm starting to think about what to do for paint. I've whittled it down to two factions:

House Mortan
40k Wiki said:
House Mortan is a Loyalist Imperial Knight House that has strong ties to the Imperium of Man. The antecedents of House Mortan settled the inhospitable world of Kimdaria, the Black Planet, during the early stages of the Age of Strife. Despite the inherent dangers of this Death World, the Knights of House Mortan held back the tides of fell creatures that stalked the planet's darkened landscape, eventually colonising the planet. Kimdaria was only rediscovered in late M35 by Mankind. Due to the millennia of constant patrols to keep the forests clear of predatory behemoths, the Knights of House Mortan have come to place great value upon close combat. Recently, House Mortan fought alongside Houses Althalos and Thalmus, saving more than 100 billion lives by defending the Hive World of Hexis Alpha when a Warp rift spawned a tide of Daemons across the planet.

House Vulker
40k Wiki said:
House Vulker is a Loyalist Imperial Knight House aligned with the Adeptus Mechanicus. Despite being one of the greater houses amongst those aligned to the Adeptus Mechanicus, House Vulker is reckoned especially reclusive and mysterious. Their home world is Aurous IV, a mineral-rich planet nestled in a crowded star system. It was to exploit the planets of this system, and surrounding asteroid belts, that the Forge World Bellus Prime was established nearby. The bonds between Aurous IV and Bellus Prime remain tight, with the same golden-plated servitor creatures working upon both worlds. The courts of House Vulker are singular places, full of Tech-Priests and servitors that speak in coded machine language and number sequences. They enact mechanical ceremonies that are, for the uninitiated, disturbing to look upon, their meanings unclear and vaguely sinister. The Nobles of House Vulker hide every inch of their flesh with robes, sometimes even wearing masks of gold. Outsiders are not welcome within their steel-clad fortresses. When called to war, the Knights of House Vulker leave behind their curious trappings, striding out to do battle with all the surety of their peers. They place a premium upon firepower and well-coordinated plans for both attack and defence. It was they who first developed the Tripartite Lance, a formation later adopted by all other houses.

The advantage that doing Vulker would have is that it'd give an excuse to get into mechanicus units for allies (with the Start Collecting! Skitarii box being a really good value and would work well with the knights). For Mortan they fit better as an ally to any Imperial force and could easily go with my existing Salamanders collection. Flavor wise I like both, but on paint I lean Mortan for its more imposing look.

Thoughts on these two? Or maybe a completely different option?

well if you have a salamanders, you know you should think of going with House Cadmus or House Vyronii since they got green.

Then 3d print a dragon face or something

Naah fuck it mix it up .
Im totaly against the concept of the choas gods being unbeatable or never losing their followers.

The nids running from something is an awesome theory ,although if i recall the passsges the theory comes from could indicate just hunger. :(

Another theory i like is the death of slaneesh ! That the rebirth of the new eldar god leads to its demise
The idea being violence is cool in media but sex/rape s and m orgies arent..killing slaneesh allows the brand to push into that lucrative pg market.
Storywise it opens up the remaining eldar to be able to let loose with their powers more ,interact differently etc

Or the emergence of the ork gods from the waah into the immaterium!

My bet would be Lion. He is such an asshole and was never much of a loyalist. Killing his chaplain for saying the Emperor is the highest authority is very loyal.

i dont want any of them to do that. it will piss me off to the max

Khan, Roboute or Vulkan turning to Chaos would piss me off to the max too. Lion - not so much. I think him a heretic already.

to be fair i think the dark angels will remain forever split. That would make more sense, i like the secretive nature.

Dunno about lion

I read my first 40k book last week, my friend got me I am Slaughter on a whim a year ago and I just got round to reading it. I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. any one got any recommendations of what I should go for next?

I played the open beta of Dawn of War 3 over the weekend, it was such a disappointment. I'm one of the few who actually really liked what they did with the second game it felt more like the tabletop game focusing almost entirely on micro. Dawn of war 3 tries to smash the features from Dawn of War 1 & 2 together and it doesn't work at all tbh.
