My understanding is that Magnus was the largest and physically strongest, he just didn't have the same combat skills as the other beatstick primarchs (and, really, why would he need them with such overwhelming psychic ability). Angron, while not the strongest, had a such a combination of strength, skill, and ferocity that made him an absolute monster in close combat.

As for Vulcan vs Curze: Vulcan was captured at the drop site massacre, stripped of his gear, and then relentlessly tortured/killed for months (Vulkan is a perpetual and kept regenerating). Eventually Curze got so pissed off by Vulkan not dying or giving up he forced him into a duel. However, Vulkan was able to get his hammer back and proceeded to beat the ever loving shit out of Conrad before using the hammer's built-in teleporter to GTFO.

Strength alone doesnt mean hes the best fighter though ....but mix in that perpetual element to him and its hard to see how any of his bros beat him

Salamanders are the legion I play in the tabletop (or I should say "play", I mostly just collect and occasionally paint). My favorite part of their fluff is that they have a much higher percentage of really high quality gear than almost any other chapter, and it's not because they've got special relationships (*cough*Minotaurs*cough*) but because they are all craftsmen in their own right. Every marine is capable of maintaining his own gear so, instead of being bogged down in basic ever day crap, their techmarines can focus on the good shit like artificer armor, terminator suits, and land raiders. In fact, the oldest functional Rhino in the imperium is held by the Salamanders.

Yeah they are badass
I like that they are one of the few that dont treat ordinary humans as dirt too.

yeah i dont understand why they went with the hole numbers thing. it was still a good book, also interesting how he considers the custodes his finest creation and the ghosts army was semi retarded. Drach'yn is pretty powerful demon im only imagining what hes like in sword form

The not being able to kill the demon though was retarded..i mean hes on par with chaos gods, he wiped horus soul out of existance and thats a primarch amped up with all 4 chaos gods backing him up.
At tiny fraction of him thinking can push back greater demons and now he cant merc one of them?
Its bad writing or an attmept to make abbadon seem more badass

Yeah i suppose its strange as horus sees sangunius execute one of his own taken with the red thirst and hes pissing himself the emps will find out but horus reassures him itl be their wee secret

It hints that maybe unforseen mutations may be grounds for legions to be executed but the wulfen curse is to be expectd in the wolves and tolerated as its both uncommon,under control and it suits the emps needs for them to be bestial at times to be his 'enforcer legion'

Although it would be good to clear up what exactly the 2 legions did that even talking about them is taboo, or hear how exacatly they were wiped out (it at all)
It would be a positve game changer for a missing full legion to return with their own unique weapons,gene seed,history and strategy/tactics
Plus how the imperiummwould react to them (esp if the emeror orderd them killed)

To be fair its maybe not needd storywise at thos point esl given we.see so few of the active chapters out there
Then again most of them are prob pretty vanilla (esp if i recall under half of them would be ultramarines sucessors ....by far the most used gene seed due to its stability and the smurfs utter devotion to the codex and imperium)

GW needs to show us some more lore behind the lost primarchs or atleast give a closure why they are erased from the imperial records, hell even the traitor primarchs wont talk about it wtf
