We're going to have a problem.
Chappelle is strong but he's not flawless.

I love George Carlin's work but he went off the rails and went "dark angry old man" for awhile. It doesn't diminish the brilliance of his earlier work. Chapplelle's Netflix shit was OK but despite his bank account bringing him cred it was mediocre comedy and the second one was basically social preaching.

I'm glad for Dave that he seems to have time to go to the gym these days but he's not that damn funny right now.

I could take or leave his "spoken word w/jokes thrown in" stuff. It's very good but if I'm in the mood for that I'll take Henry Rollins or somebody. But his comedy special kicked my ass, I can't lie. His other stuff on Netflix is all really funny to me too. I guess nothing he's done since his comeback can top Killing Them Softly, but imo that's one of the top all time specials, so it's hard to live up to.

The only comic I can point to who has been amazing nonstop throughout a long career is Stanhope. Everyone else either died young or had a rough stretch.

I've never been that much into Rollins either, and I'm a punk/metal musician. Reference to his best stuff? Maybe I missed it. "Wreckage" is a great tune but other than that I'm not getting it. He had a good diatribe about fucking Anne Coulter in the ass but otherwise...

I went back on Chappelle's show and it wasn't as funny as I remembered it. When I go back and look at Richard Pryor's shit I laugh my ass off. I like Dave but I'm not sure his comedy is at the same level.

Not ringing a bell and I'm retarded. Who's Stanhope?

Zuckerberg just sold another 100 million worth of Facebook stock. What does he need all this money for?

NJ school system is more of a money pit than he thought?

My other thought is I have been upfront with my boss about applying so hopefully, just MAYBE, someone will talk to my County's HR department about bumping up my pay here so they don't lose me.

If you looking for a new job while on their clock isn't a wake-up call for 'em then they're plain stupid and you deserve better anyhow.

Henry is great. So many stories. Dude's traveled the globe like very few ever.

Black Flag never recovered from losing Keith, but God bless Circle Jerks. This one seems apropos with all the NK hoopla.

Biggest problem is cost of living in WA fucking kills me. Even if I get a job down south I make more money on paper but my account doesn't grow.

I've considered looking for a job as a bouncer 2-3 nights a week for some extra cash.

I think that pays far less per hour, but you gotta play to your strengths.

In all seriousness, you sound well-ahead of me at your age.

Yeah but the risk of VD/getting shanked is lower.

Not MUCH lower, but still lower.

I've lost interest in everything. We are all gonna die anyways :(

Anyone following the Olympics? I can't say I am a big winter sports guy but I do like to watch sky jumping and some other stuff even if it is not the Olympics.
Anyway, its a shame they put that into places like South Korea where they don't really have any winter sport.
All the venues are empty no atmosphere for people come to watch from oversees etc.

Munich applied for the same games but didn't get it.
If it were in Munich those grounds would be full all the time even for not popular sports people like to come have a bit of a party and watch some sports.
I am sure it would be same somewhere in France, US or Canada. Just a shame for those athletes having to perform at the top level in front of 200 people.

Zuckerberg just sold another 100 million worth of Facebook stock. What does he need all this money for?

Footnote from the Form 4:

The sales reported were effected by Mark Zuckerberg, Trustee and Settlor of the Chan Zuckerberg Foundation ("CZ Foundation") and CZI Holdings, LLC ("CZI"), as applicable, pursuant to their Rule 10b5-1 trading plans. These sales are part of the plan Mr. Zuckerberg announced in September 2017 to sell 35 million to 75 million Facebook shares over approximately 18 months from the date of that announcement in order to fund the philanthropic initiatives of Mr. Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, in education, science and advocacy.

I don't think I can beat Whitaker at all. I don't think I can match the trading prowess of Goldman Sachs. No shit. I am not trying to be Warren Buffet. Again, my point of view is from that of a small retail investor. I know I am small and professionals don't trade like I do. lol. This kid hasnt found the secret to the temple, he just has some advice for people on my level.

Good advice for people on your level is pay low fees and diversify. What I'm telling you is that you're playing a game that has the odds stacked against you, and there's no way around that. You need to put dozens of hours of work at least to get a reasonable understanding of any company that you're going to invest in, and that still doesn't guarantee anything. And that's just for one part of your portfolio. To actually do the work on enough different companies to build a properly constructed one is impossible for one person. The other exchange in this post illustrates the issue. Did you even know that there was a form filed with the SEC that you could look up to answer your question?

I fucking hate trying to schedule job interviews around my current work schedule. Gggrrr

EDIT:
This shit would be 100% easier if I were unemployed right now. Mostly cause I don't want to fuck over my current job if I don't get an offer I can accept.

EDIT 2:
The only saving grace I think is that my current boss views me like a son she never had (she has twin daughters my age) and so she is supportive of me looking to other opportunities to improve and shit.

Doug Stanhope. If you like him, all of his specials are on Youtube.

For whatever reason I'm only starting to love Pryor as I get older. Chappelle has a ways to go before getting on his level I agree.

I don't like Rollins' music but I really like his stories. He has gotten more light-hearted over the years, started out very serious. Most of his stuff is on YT too.

Why am I getting so fucking nervous over this shite. ARGH

It was a rhetorical question, genius. I know why he did it. I knew all that because I look up insider selling everyday. Derp. You have told me absolutely zero I didn't know.

That is genius advice. Should be in a fortune cookie. I have brokerage that charges no fees for trades or anything else.

1) I don't believe you, really. It's such a regular schedule and so easily explained that it wouldn't draw your attention if you were monitoring it, and you'd already know the answer.
2) Your reaction just screams weakness. I'm legitimately trying to help (you're still on the "how I can I beat Whittaker" trip), but it doesn't seem that it's possible to do it without making you feel inadequate and defensive.

1. I did know the answer. I have seen him do it more than once. Anybody selling 30 million worth of stock draws my attention. And I thought it was a notable thing to mention in a random thought thread that Zuckerberg got richer today.

2. Your reaction just screams jealousy. I think this is all rooted in that 20 year old kid has more money than you. It must make you feel inadequate and defensive when an amateur can do your job so much better than you can.

And again, the straw many you keep popping up. That I think I can beat Lebron. I already said I know I can't.
