I'm dead serious. I even have a sigbet outstanding on the issue. I don't fuck around with my sigbets. Trump is the favorite to win in 2020.

Anyways, according to the betting markets Trump is the favorite to win in 2020. Your view is counter to the view of the experts.

It was the guy's first live UFC and he's whinging because 217 was bigger.

Yes, there were some good fights and some big moments, but the event largely lacked star power and the wow factor. At UFC 217 on Nov. 4 at Madison Square Garden in New York, White said there were so many “holy (shoot) moments” that it amounted to a “holy (shoot)” night. Detroit didn’t even feature a handful of those moments that brought fans out of their seats.

218 was actually way better than 217. Dill-Garb was sloppier than it should have been, GSP-Bisping was meaningless, Rose-Joanna might have been a fluke. Thompson stole the show for me at 217, that shit was clinical.

218 had tons of action, great technical displays, and meaningful fights. Clear #1 HW contender, definitive end of the Aldo era, the return of Eddie Alvarez, and proof that Cejudo is coming again for that title shot. Get rid of some of the shitty WMMA and it could have been a perfect card.

Not a GSP fan eh? Don't forget the OSP head kick.
With the names, the belts changing hands and underdog victories (especially over a champ as dominant as JJ) 217 was a massive show.
I love hotly contested back and forth fights, and Dill-Garb was a great example of that for a co-main, even if Medeiros vs Oliveira was a more impressive fight.
218 was awesome, but I'd still have 217 as my show of the year.

Definitely not a fan of skipping the line and taking away opportunities from people who deserve them. The guy is calculating to a fault, and gave a big FU to the other top MWs.

Dill-Garb was just too sloppy for my taste. Those guys are capable of much better, they are truly amazing fighters.

Usually my favorite fights are the ones that other people don't like. Cejudo-Pettis was my favorite on the main card.
 
The level of velocity with which the head of Alistair Overeem snapped back was shocking.

Wow, what an asshole. This reminds me of years back when every sports journalist pretty much shit on the sport. My guess is that guy isn't a fan and didn't know whether it was a good or bad event in comparison to others. Some of the undercard had some great finishes. We got to see Reyes fight again, Cowboy's fight was amazing to watch, got to see Fran solidify himself from known up and comer to established #1 contender putting the division on notice (made me think of the Bader v. Jones fight), and see Holloway reaffirm his stake on the FW title. There's very little in that card to shit on.

I'd like to know that too re: rip. I suspect that he had underlying sincerely held beliefs, but also liked to ham them up and embellish them for his posts.

Most of these bans were closely connected to threads I had created+was active in, or I would not be as aware of them.



Her falsedawn comment was almost certainly a reference to the thread in which she ultimately called him a "spearchucker." She had spent the previous few pages accusing him of being a misogynist and trying to bait him, and eventually lost her temper when he just responded with requests for misogynistic comments he had made, rather than engage her "well i'm a woman so you have to trust me on your misogyny" argument.

She also had a few posts early on bragging about pretending to be a black woman on facebook for the express purpose of starting arguments in feminist facebook groups and then calling people racist. (JVS called my attention to those). Later, she made a few references to Nietzche in connection with feminism about undermining a position by pretending to support it (badly). I wouldn't be remotely surprised by the latter.
